As your baby gets older your milk changes. As the majority of the milk is used for prem babies they need milk from mums of younger babies. I had to stop at six months as well x

Is it only done through hospitals? I have no idea but maybe there is other options? X

I've just been in contact with them and because my son is nearly 6 months and because they have enough milk they don't need me to be a donor. I could have expressed 200-300oz a month too. I guess I just need to drop my morning pumping session and let my supply reduce. Just seems like such a waste. It's only because my son has started weaning and now sleeps through the night I have this over supply. Oh well.

I donated with my third. He's 16 mths now. It was a bit if a hassle dropping it off etc but really worth it. If you google it you cab find out your nearest hospital that has a milk bank as not all do. I used to express first thing in the morning as that worked best for me.
