I don't have any advice on how to get him to take the bottle, but in terms of drying up your milk - peppermint oil. A few drops to the tongue a few times a day. And Sudafed.

We've got Karicare, the baby nurse at Charlestown suggested it.

More like he's smelling it and pushing it away lol.

A friend had this issue at about the same time and her dd literally went 24 hours before she gave in to the bottle. If you're happy to persevere he will take it when he's hungry.

Well, so far nothing. Mums been trying with the bottle, cup, sippy, while I'm out of the house (sitting out the back) he's not having any of it. I figure he'll take it when he's hungry. This is not fun ?

I can't pump. Not enough anyway. It took me 2 weeks to pump enough for one day and one night when I had my gallbladder removed and had to stay overnight in hospital. I do have a pretty strong letdown so maybe different teats will help.

I don't have any advise as I suck at the whole breastfeeding thing. But I just wanted to say that I think it's amazing that you lasted 7.5 months, I admire you. I wish I was that strong. Maybe consider pumping & mixing with formula & gradually pumping less & adding more formula maybe?

Would you be willing to express and see if he will take expressed milk from a cup or bottle? Then if he does you could either express feed or get donor milk. Might make it easier to get him off the breast

7.5 months is an awesome accomplishment! Well done.

Maybe not allowing any stimulation of your breasts and facing away from the shower will help dry it up.

As for Bubs he won't starve himself. Continue offering formula in different ways like bottle, sippy or drink bottle. My ds likes his bottles to have handles so he has the advent bottles with pop on handles. Trial and error really. Good luck Hun ?

You might not see any changes once you move to formula. A friend had a baby and was recommended to move to formula for a number of reasons and things got worse and she really regretted it.

I was told by my paed & allergist (as DD's prescription formula is foul) to add a couple of drops of vanilla essence & gradually reduce until they're use to the formula on its own..
