I used to work 4 nights a week when my 8 year old was a baby. It was good because I still got to do all the fun daytime stuff and didn't miss anything, but didn't have to deal with evil witching hour.

Good luck with it

I work nights now and I find leaving dd is much easier cause I know she's just sleeping and doesn't know I'm not there, (very much a mummies girl) and I still get to do everything with her during the day. If I work a longer shift I just nap when she does. I find it heaps easier all round for me and her.

That's what I was thinking ezmai.. Haha good luck to DF ;)

He's actually going to speak to his manager at his work tomorrow because they're looking for staff. He's going to see if they're happy to offer me a shift work with his roster so someone is at home with baby. That would be awesome, they're a great company. All we can do is ask, it won't hurt! If not, I'll start applying elsewhere :)

I worked nights till having this baby. It's good doing a few nights a week, get out of the house and talking to adults was therapeutic. Plus extra money was always handy :) Good luck with your job search!

Second how awesome the adult interaction is. Plus being able to go to the bathroom uninterrupted

Update: ..so maybe I won't be getting a job ? DF just had two days off work, he comes home just now and tells me that his work is cutting back everyone's hours and because he won't be getting as many hours he's going to look for a full time job.. full time in the chef industry will likely be lunch and dinner shift, so unless I get a job in a cafe doing early mornings, it won't be happening. And it works out cheaper for me to stay home rather than put Noah in childcare. I'm kind of disappointed, but I guess everything happens for a reason..

Noah is still little! Enjoy the time home with him
