Totally worth it !!!! We had to pay about same amount. I just had baby number 4 and still came out with stuff i didn't know ! It was amazing.

Yes, we went. I particularly wanted to take OH a he didn't have much exp woth babies and pregnancy etc. I feel it made him much better prepared and i was a bit more prepared too

We did it for our first baby but we personally didn't find that useful nothing you can't get from a book or the Internet to be honestly for me I was bored there and I honestly tuned out more then not and when they started talking about c sections and epidurals and in the end I had to have an emergency c section lol but everything was explained to us on the way down to the surgical rooms so no biggie really I was offered them free with the hospital I had my second in and didn't go as we didn't find it useful the first time

I'm tossing up whether to go or not. I'm not sure if there's anything I'll get out of it that I can't find online or in a book.

I'm confident with babies/children. I've been around them most my life and worked in a day care centre. I'm 110% sure having your own is different, but I don't think there'll be much they can teach me I don't already know and that I can't get support off family and friends.

If it was free I'd probably go, and it's not that we can't afford it, but I don't want to throw away $140 for nothing.. lol

We didn't do it as our pregnancy with DD wasn't "normal". So I felt like it may not have been relevant to our situation.

Looking back though it would have been nice to make some new friends as a couple.

Yes definitely go to them. I found them extremely helpful

Hubby and I did it. I didn't find it helpful (I've been around kids all my life) but it was absolute gold for hubby, he didn't have any experience and it gave him a bit of information about everything.

Not worth it imo especially if there charging u.

They were around that price at my hospital. We didn't bother. Lucas was hubby's third baby so he was confident enough and I've always been around babies/kids and didn't think we'd get our money's worth. Plus hubby works nights and ours were at night too.

I think if you have the money and aren't so confident or don't have too much experience with kids, they'd be a good idea :)

When I had my first the classes were free and I found them very helpful, I didn't really want to go to them as I thought they were a waste of time, but a lot of the information I had no idea about. At the time I was only 18 and had no idea about the different stages of labour. I never went to the breastfeed class as I wasn't going to breastfeed even took formula to the hospital but once he was born I gave it a go.

Mine didn't really give me any new info from what I had read. They were also free. I only went as I was staying in hospital accommodation as I live out of town and had nothing else to do.

If you are a first timer, yes i think it helps prepare you for what to expect at your hospital.

But you can get just as much, if not more from books about labour.

I think it can be nice to get to know a couple of the midwives though.

Having said that, i'm not doing it with this one, even though it's been 15 years since dd and it's hubby's first baby.
