My friend is getting married on the 4th of April. I got the invitation today. In the envelope was a small piece of paper with gift ideas.

What you can afford. We give minimum $50 per person (not kids, we don't take him to weddings lol) and maximum $100 per person. Depends how much we like them too. We're going to Dh cousins wedding tomorrow and he's a bit of a douche so only giving $100 together.
When we got married quite a few couples only gave us $50 altogether, which was fine as they had to travel and pay for accommodation.

When ppl first started asking for money as gifts my sister was really offended by it and gave Monopoly money lol. We (me oh and our 2boys) usually give $200 in a card

We give $100 as a couple. When we got married we had a money tree type thing n we were given anything from nothing to $200. Theres no right or wrong just give wat u can afford n are happy to give like most newlyweds im sure they will be grateful regardless

My partners cousin is getting married this weekend and we are giving $50. We have two young children and so far have spent $2000 on this wedding (hens, bucks, engagement party, bridal shower and also a suit for my oh as he's a groomsman) it's as much as we can afford but I know they will appreciate anything they get :-)

My bff was my maid of honor. She gave me $50 in a card and this gorgeous photo frame that she wrote this huge letter on the back of.
Personally, I prefer to skimp on the money and try to think of something personal to accompany it - in 10 yrs they won't remember who gave them how much money but they'll always have a keepsake

usually reception cost is about $100 per head so that is how much I would be giving. we gave $200 to my hubbys friend and we weren't even there, he lives in Melbourne and we live in Adelaide but he did fly down for our wedding a couple years ago.

We do $100 per person for close friends and $100 for both of us for others (work colleagues etc). My cousin is getting married in May and my dd is her flower girl plus I'm doing a reading at the wedding. We will give them $300
