No. Money should not rip people apart. You just need to be able to discuss it properly. When children are involves it can make money more stressful cause children are expensive but being able to talk about it and resolve it will help. Both parties just have to be open minded and probably in a good mood before starting the conversation.
Hard to say. If the 'money issues' were him lying about money and spending it all. Or if I had zero say in the financial aspects of our household. Yes.
I expect to be treated as an equal and also want my partner to be honest.
In my experience, money issues are a sign of a much bigger issue. If the only issue were money or lack of it. I don't see how splitting up would help obtain more.
However, compulsive spending, racking up credit card debt, lying about finances are all serious issues in my book.
I may. I'm not married and my SO and I live together. He doesn't work and collects disability. I work but only part time for 9.25 an hour. He expects me to cover all except house payment and his car insurance and phone. He currently gets more on disability than what I can even make in a month. He thinks I should provide him my account info. Ummmm no. I don't ask him for his or what he does with his money and I feel he is crossing the boundaries. It would be different if he was working and we had an account together. I have seriously considered leaving him for his demanding ways.

No. There shouldn't be an argument over money, me and my SO never argued about money, he knows better
