I’m a SAHM not going through college so I know my perspective will be different from your’s but just trying to get simple things done throughout the day is a big accomplishment lol dd is 18 months and running around like a maniac but it’s easy to clean when she’s distracted with her toys and I can see her.
You can always hire a maid if you have the money and want a real deep cleaning every so often or just have someone watch your baby for a day while you get some chores done if that’s possible.
Tbh though, focus on your baby and school. That’s what’s most important. The house can wait as long as it’s still relatively clean.

ETA: also cleaning while dd is asleep helps a lot too. Even if it off puts my bedtime a little, just getting the dishes done and the counters wiped down makes the house feel sooo much more clean already.
I have/had a gate system set up so the living room was completely closed In so ds could crawl walk run play safely while I cleaned showered etc
Nothing was in the living room that he wasn’t able to get into... which was an absolute life saver...
He’s 3 now and o still have the gates set up even though he can open or climb over, it’s left up as a physical deterrent... so he knows when he’s allowed to run through the house or if he’s to stay in the living room...
It’s so handy...
I also have a cleaning lady come once every two weeks (she’s actually cleaning my house as I type this) for a deep in-depth clean...
It’s actu more affordable then you would think
$15 hr for 3-4 hrs every other week...
Then I jut maintain the house in between and if I fall behind or whatnot I don’t stress cause the cleaning lady will be here to take care of it...
It’s saved my stress/anxiety so much doing this, no pressure on me at all if I clean great if not no big deal...
My priority is Hayden and dinner/dishes anything else is extra...
Especially being 28 weeks pregnant ?
Maybe if you can’t gate up an area get a play pen and put a toddler show on while you get some work done....
Have you tried wrapping/wearing your baby??
I’d wrap Hayden and wear him while cleaning if he was sick as he didn’t want to be put down, I’d back wrap him and he’d love it super fun and snuggly, while I was able to get stuff done...
Hope maybe you can find something helpf in all that ?
I do the important stuff. Laundry, dishes, floor bathroom. Anything else is bonus. Dishes when i wake up, laundry when i get a second to run downstairs, bathroom during nap time or he "helps" . And floors a couple times a week or as needed
That's really helpful thank you so much! I think I just needed to know that others mums struggle with this too, regardless of their circumstances. I've been spending too much time on Instagram where everyone is perfect you know?
I should have specified that the essentials still absolutely get done! Dishes and countertops every night, laundry a couple times a week, the bathroom gets wiped down as it needs then a big clean once a week. Its just the bigger jobs like the floors and dusting and windows that I never seem to get to.
@ocean I think being a SAHM can make cleaning even more stressful because you are home more to make a mess lol! That's what I found before i went back to work anyway.
@canadagirl wow that sounds mega cheap for a cleaner! I have looked at getting someone here and it was £20 for 2 hours! That is definitely what i need to take the stress out of it though. I think there can be such a stigma around hiring a cleaner though, like 'do you think you're too good to clean?" but if it means i get to focus my attention on more important things then its worth it
Being a SAHM definitely adds to the cleaning. Cuz we are always playing, cooking, doing so much. But i wouldnt try to be perfect. I do a load of laundry everyday usually if i have enough clothes. Esp with flu season still around.
