Dog experts needed!!!!
We have a Dalmatian mix he is 3 years old. Has always been a great dog until recently. We always feed him two times a day. He sometimes leaves his food in his bowl. Well the past few weeks he has been stealing food off the counter. Not thing like open plates big like two bags of bread loaves and eaten them. He has eaten a whole bag of tortillas as well. He never used to do this before. Any idea why?? It's driving me insane!

ETA he's also been getting into the trash. Like I said he's never done this before.

Has he had a vet checkup lately? Could be he needs a different type of food.

Has anything changed in the household? Major changes can cause stress and create bad behavior.

Have you had less time for him lately? I've known dogs that will start eating the craziest things out of protest/ boredom, f.e. half a sleeve of a sweater, curtains, etc.
But as a pp mentioned, it could also be that he is suffering from some deficiency.

Nothing has really changed. I think I will take him to the vet make sure he's ok
