Screaming toddler
How to you get them to stop the screeching and screaming that literally make your eardrums ring?!? Ds is 18 month old and when he gets mad he screams and screeches so loud it's mentally draining and eardrum ringing!! I try to redirect him, walking away, telling him calmly we don't yell, talking to him. Nothing works

I take dd to her room and tell her until she can act like a big girl she can stay in her room and shut the door. It takes about 5 mins before she has calmed down and decided to make her way back into the living room.

Definitely a phase. Didn't last too long for my daughter, about 6 months or so, but omg, I hated it! Good luck. I hope it passes soon.

This is one long phase

I do the same thing as Randa. It shows them that there is no reward for the screaming, the reward is for being calm. He usually calms down relatively quickly ,like 5-10 mins. We have a video monitor so I can observe when he calms down.

Ear plugs..
Seriously though, calmly redirect .. explain in a soft voice what you expect. It is a phase that will be outgrown.

Wish I knew. I've tried setting my daughter on her bed and walking away and it makes it worse ?

Does that help her?

I would put him in his bed walk out and close the door. Go back in when he's calmed down. I do that with my daughter
