Currently trying to wean my 18 month old as well. I quit nursing him at night cold turkey. Just refused to roll over and let him nurse. He did really well the first night, but the second night was horrible and I had to work 12 hours the next day. He does well some night and some nights he still cries. I cut him down to 2 feedings a day when I'm not at work. He has never taken a bottle, so I wasn't able to wean earlier on. He doesn't eat a variety of foods right now either, so it's a major stressor for me too. I'm afraid I'm gonna starve him, but it's time he quit nursing.
I just started pumping and giving the bottle and refused to put him back on my boob to nurse. I needed to, I couldn't take breastfeeding anymore, so one day I woke up and just started pumping. He wouldn't take a bottle, but he was okay when I took away the boob, now he loves his bottle!
Following. Same issue happening over here.
Edit: I will say though that I have been reading The No Cry Sleep Solution and it has some practical tips for the baby that nurses all night and how to stop it. I'm so damn tired that I can't put anything into play. But, it seems like it would help.
Following, I've been so beyond done ebf'ing my 1 year old since 2 months. She is just so attached and I feel so cruel taking it away. So I haven't worked up the courage.
