do you look like a slob?

To drop off your kids to school?

The beginning of the year I did wake up early and looked nice, but then morning sickness hit and I was doing good to get ds to school on time.

Dropping off...negative. I barely get sleep as is. I'm not about to wake up earlier than I have to just to drop off my 1st grader. However, if I find the time I will look somewhat presentable picking up lol.

No because I open my front door, and watch them walk to school from the warmth of my house with a cup of coffee.

How is that even enforceable? Who can you 'punish' if the adults aren't dressing to the principals's standards?

First world problems for sure!

At there old school not a slob but not really caring what the hair and face be doing.

This school is full of rich parents and impressions are crucial so I make sure I look the part.

Nope. But I used too. Decided that's just not me and that I can get up a little earlier. Trust, it makes my daughter feel better lol I'm the cool mom so I can't be busted she says

I'm almost always wearing yoga pants and sweatshirt. I have ran out of the house with my slippers on lol. After drop off I go home and shower. Easier taking a shower and getting ready for the day with just one toddler lol.

I wouldn't say a slob, but I have a messy bun and VS sweat pants on. Haha

Yup....no shame here!

My son goes to MDO and yes, I get dressed to take him. Not dressed up, just not in my pajamas.

I find it laughable how the author makes it sound like it's an act of God to get kids to school. When I was working, I got myself, a 3 year old and an infant, who was still nursing, out the door by 6am so I could be at work at 6:45. It was hectic, but it's not as difficult as she makes it sound.

No, but I head to work after drop off. I still get dressed though even on days off work when I take him. I feel off if I don't, plus I like looking put together

Lmao if the principle asked me to change the next time I dropped off my kids I would show up in my Fuzzy pajama onesie.

I wear pajamas to drop my son off but to pick him up and go to school functions I always dress appropriate. I've never really seen any one out here that hasn't Dressed appropriately when in school

I might be the odd ball but I actually wake up early and get ready before waking my kids up. Hair, makeup, jeans or whatever and I walk them to line everyday

Yep.

His school is about 2 minutes away. Students are dropped off at the door and back home I go. Usually, yoga pants and a T-shirt, hair in a bun. Occasionally, I'll have a pair of pj bottoms on. I get dressed later on. He is always dressed nice though.

I wear yoga pants, leggings, or jeans and put my air up in a bun and no makeup. I wouldn't say I look like a slob but I'm not getting all done up just to walk a few feet the the school entrance.

Edit: I would rather see the parents dressed like a slob then the kids. I hate it when parents dress themselves super nice and make they're kids wear worn out clothes either to big or to small. So if the kids are dressed nice and groomed I honestly couldn't care less what the parents are wearing as long as they don't show up naked.

Yes yes I do... I'm ok with it though. Too sick and too many girls to be ready by 7:15am.. And I work 2 jobs one ending at 12am, I'm a single parent with 4 girls so making sure they look nice and ready for the day along with being well fed is a priority for me, do you suggest I get 2 hours of sleep because I'm doing something wrong as a parent? Wow.. Idk but I'm actually offended.

I think the point is to teach kids pride in their appearance. When did it become acceptable to look like a slob? i know what they mean about parents showing to assemblies and meetings dressed inappropriately because i've seen it. Really, how hard is it to comb your hair and put on some proper pants?

This is in the UK as well, they don't have the same low standards for what kids wear that exist in America. If your kid has to be dressed properly, you should set an example. If you're too busy as a parent to change out of pj's before attending the school, you're doing something wrong.

I wear leggings, a long flannel or hoodie, and my hair up in a bun. I did my hair and makeup and got "dressed up" for 2 weeks when my son first started pre k. That crashed and burned rather quickly when I realized sleeping longer was higher on my priority list. I can understand wanting to set a good example, but I'm not showing up in freaking footie pajamas either??

I don't wear pajamas in public, but I'll be damned if I'm not allowed to wear leggings and a messy bun to drop my kids off. I'm also an adult and won't be told what to wear by a principal. Obviously I wouldn't condone wearing something inappropriate in front of kids, but leggings or sweatpants aren't a part of that category.
