She took it a bit far with the butt wiping and constantly asking her to repeat over and over, but man, I don't think that little bopper will be doing anything like that again.

I get where yall are coming from but I don't think this approach would be totally off limits if my daughter did something that could potentially put herself in harms way. Personally, I was doing a lot worse than just posting pics at 13.. my parents made me deactivate my social media, I made new ones. They made me do community service, I still snuck out. I didn't have a cell phone, they restricted all of our computers to block any social media websites..I found proxy websites to surcumbvent those firewalls and still log on. I was raised in the church, was taught to respect myself, I played sports.... all that. I "knew" better. I just chose to be sneaky cuz I wanted to be grown. That's the generation of these kids nowadays. That's why this kind of punishment isn't a hard no for me.

@lgoins, I totally agree. I think she had good intentions, just didn't go about it the right way.

I wish my name was bobsburgers! ????

Online child shaming seems to be the latest parenting trend. It's a bandwagon I won't be jumping on. This girl needs to learn to three lessons - to respect herself, online safety and that some aspects of her life should be private. This punishment sends the exact opposite message on all three fronts.

She definitely didn't! Hopefully it won't do any lasting damage to her daughter.

@lgoins yeah she could, but SHE is 13 her mother is an adult and is completely aware (or should be) of the consequences and damage this could do.

@lgoins, I never said the child wouldn't have posted such things, all children are sexually curious. A pp said deactivating the account as punishment would just lead to more sneaking around. I didn't agree with that. When you are properly parenting your child, they have respect for you and your wishes. I also think that children's social media accounts should be monitored closely. Especially a 13 year old.

This mother is as immature as her child. Neither of them have thought through the long term ramifications of their actions. Sad to see.

I disagree with posting this on social media. Everything goes viral now and this girl may have a hard time in the future getting jobs and getting into schools because of this. I'm not saying I don't understand where's she's coming from but I just don't think it's a time to post it on the Internet for the world to see.

I agree.. Other than the wiping her aśs part, I'm on her side. She might have just saved herself a teenage pregnancy, ruined her life, or a life of drugs.. I do think the mom should have organized it a little better. She seemed to be doing it out of anger (I don't blame her) but she should have just figured out what she was going to say before she video taped it.

My niece did this. She made a fb and said she was 21 and was talking to all these old guys. My sister found out bc one of my niece's friends told her. She deactivated it and had no phone no internet or anything! At Christmas she got a iPad and my sis gave her back the internet. A few weeks ago I found her new profile bc I kept getting a message if I knew them. So I checked and it was my niece. Trying to act all grown. I told her mom and she told me I was lying! So I screenshot it all and all the pics and she still said it wasn't her! So I asked my other sister to tell her and she believed her. She deleted it when her mom asked her. But, she still got everything taken away again! She also tried blocking everyone in the family but she didn't block me...

I would have changed the wifi password. She would have volunteered at a women's shelter or something along those lines for the whole summer.

She would have made a video apologizing to her Facebook friend and then revealed her deceit. But I wouldn't have gone beyond that.

I would have felt as if I had failed her. I would hope that my daughter had more self respect than that.

If you're parenting your child, she wouldn't have the access to make another account. If you're raising your child with respect, she would understand that what she did was wrong and not go behind your back to make a new account.

I really hope that the mother did deactivate her account, otherwise she's just allowing these adult "friends" of her daughter to have pictures of her in lingerie.
