Baby refuses bottle

Anyone else’s baby refuse to take a bottle ? We gave the little guy a few bottles here and there but he’s mostly been exclusively breastfed . He now refuses any and all bottles . I don’t know what to do because nobody can really watch him because he refuses to drink anything . Help!

My sisters 8 month old refuses the bottle due to being strictly breast fed but she will drink from an open cup. So we found that the 360 silly cups work best for her, and she will drink from those with no problem.

Ask your doctor for a referral to a speech therapist to help with working on a latch for the bottle. No one ever told me this with my DD and DS now takes the bottle but won’t drink formula ?

Like you my son had the odd bottle now and then, but we didn’t give him one for a week and now he point blank refuses one. He’ll chew the test but not drink from it. He also won’t take a sippy cup. Now we’re introducing solids it kinda worries me.

I'm worried about that with my daughter. She has only had one bottle and that was when I went to my sons graduation. I was only gone for two hours and since then she's only had the breast exclusively. Next month I go back to work so I'm wondering how that's going to play out.

My girl wouldn't take a paci or bottle till 6 months. As soon as I put something in her mouth she would start vomiting bad. She had tongue tie and a high palate. I tried a few bottles and that didn't help. Eventually her gag reflex calmed down and she started drinking about an ounce out of a bottle at 5ish months. To help I made sure to use very warm milk and only try to bottle feed when she was very hungry. When she was too hungry the bottle made her angry and if she wasn't hungry enough she would just chew on the nipple. Once she started taking a bottle I made sure to keep giving her at least one a day. At 6 months she started taking one easily and gets 1 bottle a day. It doesn't seem like it should be so hard but you can't force them to drink. You just have to be patient, keep offering, and find the best time to do it.
