Canadian IVF and ART medical expense claim
Okay! Proud Canadian moment here! Just saw the federal budget for 2017. Guess what LGBTQ friends and singles who just want a child without a partner? You are now able to claim ART as a medical expense!!!!

It doesnt get reimbursed. We get it as tax credits when we do our taxes at the end of the year. Which can mean we get some money back. Regardless it's helpful and thankful for anything. Ideally you want to claim it under the partner who makes the higher income. Just a tip ?
Husband and I currently are on saving mode for IVF. We don't like going into too much debt. I was thinking about getting a 3rd job working at Starbucks. Lol

Amazing! Does that mean they reimburse for the cost? Or subsidize?

Single parenting and gay and lesbian couples wanting their own. It didn't cover for them because it's not medical. Now the LGTQ community and single parent can also claim it.

I'm a little confused... we've always been able to claim ivf as a medical expense. What exactly was the change?
