HCG nightmare
I experienced a miscarriage the day after Thanksgiving. I've been going for weekly blood draws to make sure my levels were decreasing back down to 0. Last week my HCG came back at 10. I went today and now it's 12. Wtf? Will my body ever normalize? This is really starting to get me down ?
@penelope1278 he had no explanation except for there may still be a live baby floating around in my body somewhere. Where he doesn't know (didn't bother to look either). Even after he saw my numbers going up he said that I probably did have a miscarriage. The nurse said my numbers could of doubled between the MC and the followup and now they are going back down. Which makes no sense to me at all....
I had what I was told was a MC on 12/28/17 with levels of 1200. Went and had labs done yesterday 1/10/18 and levels were 1590 2 weeks later. Shouldn't my numbers go down not up??? Also been having sharp pains on my left side since the 28, which they didn't get to see the left ovary on the US they did on the 28 said something was blocking it.... hhhhmmm.
I spoke with my doctor today and she was not at all concerned. She said that such a small rise is completely normal and that HCG fluctuates occasionally. Does this sound right? Perhaps it fluctuates but after a miscarriage shouldn't it first reach base levels before doing anything strange?
I definitely plan to talk to my doctor in the morning. The results were posted to my file, which I have access to through their website, after the office closed. Such a small rise is just baffling to me. I had a transvaginal ultrasound done about 3 weeks ago and they said I had passed everything. Like going through a miscarriage isn't stressful and terrible enough, it has to linger too. So sorry to hear about your experience pp! That sounds so awful!!
That was me. My hcg leveled off Oct 16th was 34 and Oct 30th was 34. Went to a different doctor and explained what was happening and she scheduled me am ultrasound and blood work. My hcg started going back up and I had retained products that we're trying to rebuild as a new pregnancy. Original d&c at 14 weeks Aug 24. Repeat d&c Nov 3rd. Dec 6th my hcg was at 3 and they said I was negative for pregnancy finally. Positive opk Dec 13th and Dec 28th started feeling like I was going into labor. Negative blood work and an ultrasound and they told me I had a blood clot that was stuck. Took Cytotec and 10 mins later a mass larger then a golf ball come out. This is 18 weeks post original d&c. Send it to the pathologist and it is retained products still. Call them and tell them you would like another blood draw to find out what's happening. Ask for an ultrasound. Negative blood work does not guarantee that you don't have retained products! I don't want what happened to me happening to anyone else ever!
My HCG was at 3 Dec 6th and I got a positive ovulation test Dec 13th. Good luck and baby dust!
