Telling the boss
I don't plan on announcing my pregnancy to my boss and coworkers anytime soon. Probably sometime in December. I wasn't worried about it until today. I work for an oral surgeon and the office staff is small. There are 6 of us who work there, we're all women, 5 of which are mid to late 20s. My coworker announced she's due early June today and the doctor has been so annoyed since. He's upset that we'll be short staffed while she's gone. Well, I'm due latter part of June so that's going to go over great when I tell him. Ugh. I like my job I just wish the doctor would not act like a child when things don't go his way. ?

I was almost in this same position. My coworker is due a month before me and my boss was a bit annoyed about it. I knew he was going to flip when he realized he’d have to cover two of us (admittedly that’s VERY tough since there’s only 3 of us). Butttt I ended up transferring to a different (larger) office so it’s not a big deal.
He’ll get over it. Sorry he’s stressing you out.
That's what happens when he has so many women of childbearing age working there! He should expect it! Not like you are going to wait a whole year cause "Judy's" having a baby! ? My friend had the same situation in a small dental office. Good luck! Hope he doesn't give anyone a hard time!
Update: I haven't yet told my boss, but another coworker (also a friend) just informed me she got a positive pregnancy test. Half of his staff is currently pregnant. Oh boy lol
