When you're a clumsy person....
So here I sit in the ER, at my SO's insistence, after I had an encounter with one of our baby gates about 6 hours ago. You'd think I could clear a 2 inch tall step. You'd think I'd know how to walk through it after having it for almost a year. You'd be wrong. My toe/foot is a nice shade of blue/black and my poor little toe is about 3 times the size it should be. It's also at about a 45° angle to my foot. So here I sit at 11:15pm, when I have to be at work at 7:30 in the morning, exhausted beyond all reason, wishing I had been born a little more graceful than I was. I feel like I deserve a constant facepalm for this one. You ladies have anything stupid happen that landed you in the hospital?
Hospital is the last resort for me lol. But I often fall down my stair case (I'm still trying to figure out how it happens) and I am always tripping over things, even my own feet! I was extremely stressed out at the Grand Canyon a few weeks ago lol. It would be my luck to trip and fall off a cliff ?!
I'm sorry but I seriously can't help but not to laugh right now..I'm surprised my little one didn't wake from me laughing loud...lol. I'm glad everybody is okay though! Regina...I probably would have never looked at those guys the same again. I'd have it stuck in my head that I made myself look like a fool in front of them lol. I'm weird with that kind of stuff. If something embarrassing happens to me in front of somebody, I can't ever look at them the same again.
Addison...Did your brother purposely let go of the tree branch?
I've almost broken my nose, twice. Both super stupid situations
First one: i was like 10 and trying to grab a tree branch (big enough to be a small tree) from my older brother and as I pulled he let it go and it went full force into my nose.
Second time: I was 16 and standing on the back of my friends golf cart, super smart I know, so she thought it'd be funny to slam on the breaks. Smacked my face off of the steering wheel, metal bottom, and a rock on the ground for good measure.
I also fell in the shower one time trying to shave my leg and fractured my ankle and hurt my knee as well.
I didn't go to the hospital for this one but when I was around 8 or 9 I decided to do a running jump through our living room for god only knows what reason and landed in a full split. Seriously didn't walk right for almost a month ??♀️
Pp your story reminded me of one my mom told me- when her and my dad were still together (recently married) she got angry and started cleaning. She was sweeping so angrily she broke the broom and my dad looks at her dead serious and goes "oh no, how are you going to get around now" ????. Wonder why they didn't last lol.
I caught my toes on a bathroom heater before and in between my pinky toe and other toe, I gashed it badly. It hurt so bad, the hole was deep. It required stitches, never want to expierence that again....It was one of those heaters that go across the bottom of the wall.
I don't have my bed on a bed frame right now, there's hard plastic pieces on each corner of the bed. Everytime I put laundry away or wash and put my bed set back on I smash my toes off them. It actually happened a few days ago, I still can't bend my pinky toe from it...
I once fell down the stairs all because i had socks on. My carpet is slippery. I could probably write a list of things of me being clumsy.
@Ada I feel you. I don't like my feet to be touched. My SO was trying to examine it earlier when I refused to come and he kept tickling the bottom of my foot, which made me jerk, and hurt it worse. ?
I've never had an ingrown nail but I'd probably ignore it and I wouldn't even have to be pregnant lol
When I was pregnant I got an ingrown toenail but wouldn't let anyone touch it. I went to the ER 6 months after baby was born and the nurse was like "sweetie the ER is for emergencies " then she pulled off my sock and my toe was the size of a golf ball oozing blood and puss. She apologized and like 5 nurses walked in to look and was like "how did u let it get this bad" I said uhm I was pregnant, couldn't reach my toes, and no one was touching it. They had to remove my toenail.. I was embarrassed but F it lol.
Stupid cat ran between my feet as I was turning around and I lost my balance and fell dislocating my knee.
At work I was sitting on the floor with my legs stretched out and one of the kids was walking backwards and tripped and sat hard on my foot and broke a few small bones. That was loads of fun.
I tripped over my daughter's bouncy chair in the dark after getting up to pee and broke my arm! In 3 places! Do you know how hard it is to care for a 4 month old and 4 yr old alone with a cast?! My dad came over every 2-3 days and bathed my daughter, scooped my cat box, and helped with any chores I hadn't done yet.
I cut my leg on a flower pot chasing a stray cat out of my yard once and had to get stitches. My poor neighbor took me to urgent care because pushing my clutch pedal opened it and made it bleed more.
Dog was running around crazy got between my legs, so I fell. Dislocated my knee.
Was using an electric hedge trimmer, went to pull the cord and cut my finger. Just needed a few stitches.
Was helping my brother with an outdoor project in my early 20s. I bent over to gran something and he threw a bag if stones. Stones landed on shovel causing the handle to come up and hit me across the face. Concussion, broken nose and 2 black eyes were my fate......yuck
