Calling all Team Yellow mommies!!
Ladies! I'm so excited to see everyone announcing the sex of their babies! But you're making me want to find out this time too! We have a 21 month old little boy and a 7 month old little girl, so we're team yellow this time around. You guys are making it so difficult to stay team yellow though!
We didn't find out with our 3rd. I loved it. Although I was so enthralled with our new baby that my husband eventually had to ask if baby was a boy or girl lol. Everyone was so excited to find out if we had a boy or girl. With our 1st we found out and kept it to ourselves (it was our compromise) and our 2nd we found out and announced at Christmas. I really want it to be a surprise again this time but DH wants to know.
We are team yellow or team mint green as I say bc I hate yellow lol but we are FTP so we will see how long I can hold out. I'm 12w so plenty of time to change my mind. The only struggle I'm having is clothes. Like I said, I hate yellow and finding the mint green stuff is hard.
I think for the stroller and pack n play my mom is going to have the gender and she is going to tell my MIL and GMIL what color to buy for.
You are not alone! We are team yellow, so far! Hubby really wants to find out, so we are still deciding if we will wait for a surprise, or do a gender reveal later in the pregnancy (like 32 weeks!)
We found out at 13 weeks with DD, so practically knew the sex the entire pregnancy! This time I want to wonder a bit longer!!
all these announcements make me want to know though, but I'm pretty steadfast on waiting until at least the third trimester..
I agree! My sister keeps complaining how she NEEDS to know in order to plan things.
No, you don't. There are plenty of gender neutral things! Besides, my other two children are still young. My son will be 2 in December and my daughter is only 7 months. We still have all their baby stuff, so we'll need to buy very little. Maybe a couple new outfits just because but that's it.
My sister wants to throw me another baby shower but I've never asked for gifts. And if people want to buy something, I suggest diapers, wipes, or books.
I'm excited again about waiting!
Oh I forgot to mention. When a friend of mine is going in to have their baby and I already know the gender and the name, I'm not really excited. It's more of, "oh so and so are having their baby today." However, when they don't know what they are having I am constantly checking FB waiting for the announcement. To me finding out at birth is more exciting and keeps everyone else just as excited. Of course family hates it because we need to "plan" but it isn't up to them. All we have to plan for is a baby, gender doesn't matter. And since we didn't find out with our first all the big ticket items are gender neutral as well as a bunch of newborn clothes. The one thing I do though is I buy a cute girl outfit to bring the baby home in and a cute boy outfit. Once baby is born I have my mom wash the one we need and we return the other one.
We did that with our first. It was hard for me but my husband said something to me that helped. He said "there are very few Good surprises in life why not keep this a surprise so we always have a good surprise in mind" it is so true. There are few good surprises. I was so happy we waited tho 9 months of guessing n betting on gender with ppl was fun lol. Hearing "it's a girl" after her first cry was worth every wait. We r pregnant with miracle number two n we r getting the pressure from family to find out. So we will have a gender reveal party at 20wks.
Thanks ladies! We were so excited to find out our first was a boy (what we both wanted) and the same for our daughter. My sister is pushing us to find out, but SO and I have talked a lot about it and would love an honest surprise!
We have a hard time deciding on names so choosing a boy name and a girl name is going to take some serious time, but I think we can make it!!
I'm team yellow with my first! I agree, it's hard seeing everyone else find out, but I've just decided with social media, Facebook, I know all my friends baby's genders and names 5 months before the baby comes! No surprise at all. I feel like with everyone's whole life out there now, it's fun to have an amazing surprise. Also, I think it's fun to drive people crazy and make them wait!
We are team yellow for baby #3 also. We have 2 boys and I'm 99% sure this will be our last baby so it's our last chance for a pure surprise :) I already have a girl name & boy name picked our so I'm good in that area & the baby sleeps in our room the first 4months so we don't need to create a nursery straight away. I will just send my mom out for a blue or pink carseat after delivery.
I feel like a majority of people find out what they are having ahead of time so why not be the minority and keep everyone in suspense! We are going to have a Prediction Party instead of a baby shower where everyone can get together and guess the due date & gender based on old wives tales or their own instinct. We aren't registering for anything other than diapers because whether it's a boy or girl we will need those lol and this baby is getting a party of their own this way.
Stay strong mama!
Like you, I'm pregnant with #3 and I have a boy and girl already. My husband is dying to have a surprise in the delivery room...I promised him we'd wait and now I regret it! I can't go back on my word. My other friends that have waited said it was one of the few "happy" surprises life has to offer us, and so I keep telling myself that. Hard though- not even b/c I'm a crazy planner, more of a bonding thing. Anyways, here's to Team Yellow (but it's not easy!!)
This is my 4th baby and the 4th time we are waiting until birth. I have 3 boys and know this is my last. If I find out I am having another boy I will be disappointed and won't be able to enjoy my pregnancy. Finding out in the delivery room I am just sooo happy to have a healthy baby that gender doesn't matter. Plus, woman get all the attention during pregnancy, letting your SO be the one to go out and announce the baby is the one big thing that he gets to do.
I can't wait until delivery so I plan on finding out as soon as possible but this is my first! You have best of both worlds, one of each! If I was in your shoes I would wait, once the baby comes and you find out the sex it will make that moment a thousand times better! What ever you decide you will be happy!
Never been so excited to know that this time tomorrow i will know if my little peanut is team blue💙 or team pink💖

Baby girl decided it was her time before we could make our decision. Thanks for all your love and prayers. My little princess now became my little angel. 😭👶🙏👼
Just got my one month old to pee AND poop in the potty ☺️ #godiaperfree
We're having our fourth and last we have two girls and one boy (we found out with the twins and my singleton) so I was able to convince my husband to wait and even wait for names too! I'm so excited and hope I can stay strong at the ultrasound!! Which I should be able to!!
