Progesterone suppositories

Suppose to start the suppositories this week, like a lot of you ladies my cervix is shortening, last year I had a fetal demise at 21.5 weeks.

So this time around I get weekly get a cervical lengthing on Friday I went and the sonogram tech said I was at 2.3 which was a big difference from the following Friday which was 2.9, they sent me to labor and delivery to monitor for contractions which I wasn't having, I'm in the hospital scared and crying and the doctor comes in and checks my cervix to check to see if its opening(which it's not) does another transvaginal scan and tries to tell me it have gotten better and it is now 2.9 no longer 2.3, but he's still scheduling me for a cerclage on this wed. He didn't or rather couldn't admit that that damn sonogram technician was wrong in her measurements, I was so scared thought my damn head was gonna explode, suffice to say she won't be doing my cervical lengthing again, she cause me way to much distress,

I knew my cervix was shortening, an my prenatal appt this Wednesday, they said if it was shorter this Friday they would schedule my cerclage for after Oct 3rd so her wrong measurements just spend up the cerclage, I guess I can be thankful for that.

I'm still scared to death because I do think know what to expect, when getting a cerclage.

I've been on the suppositories twice now I've only noticed I get a headache when I first started the meds

It's been almost a week since I started the suppositories. It hasn't been too bad. I've had some slight cramping, and the leakage is really annoying, but such a small price to pay if they help. Hoping I don't experience anything too awful with them in the future. Good luck ladies!

I do the shot an my cousin is doing the ones you do she called me the other day saying she was to wet down there an she was very constipated

I do the suppositories. .. don't like them lol. Will be doing them until I'm close to 36 weeks I believe.

At first I was using the suppositories but I kept getting build up of the medicine at the opening of my Virginia & it was giving me a allergic reaction... So always check for build up u can easily pick it out lol I'm on bed rest so maybe that's y it wasn't coming out good luck tho ... I'm on the shot now & they are 5,000 a pop thank god it's free with the Incurance I have

I start the shot next week to make the baby stay in longer i guess i do one every week I'm scared lol its in the ass

You've got same history as me with second son, my first was also prem and 3rd I had help with 400mg pessaries 1in evening for 14 wks 20wk till 33wk 6 days and my son stay in till 39wks ??

I'm 17wks 3 days and iv asked for same treatment again iv been called in to consultant on Friday at first she said no but I went gp and spoke to mid wife and midwife agreed with me but consultant said no cos she hasn't used it before late in pregnancy, but my midwife spoke to the head consultant in charge of all consultant and he agreed with me so looks like iv won

They under study and can increase by 50% staying in but 50% is 50% and when been through experiences I did no way I'm watching another child in a coma

They do the hormone pessaries either in 200mg or 400mg I had 400mg

I can not wait to hear finally we agree and will treat u like last cos nothing worse than living from 30wk onwards in fear of baby coming and going through what did

I've used the suppositories since 20 weeks. I'm 35 now and will be using them until 37 weeks. I had a shortened cervix and was dilated at 27 weeks. The suppositories are a little messy but other than that everything is good and they have kept my bun in the oven all this time ☺️

I was on it since I was 21 weeks. Still on them. I take them at night. I havent had any side effects. I'm 34 weeks so I firmly believe in that medication. I was diagnosed with short cervix. Mine was 0.9cm at 22 wks. In 1.5 weeks I will stop taking it per doctors orders and wait for baby to come. Good luck. I strongly recommend taking it. I swear by it

I use the progesterone pills an have no side affects the only thing I don't like about them is once the pill dissolves it leaks all over my shorts/underwear.

I am doing the shots my insurance covers it good luck

I used the suppositories and had no side effects whatsoever. However, they did tend to leak a little into my underwear overnight once they melted.

I used the progesterone suppositories. I experienced the worse of the side effects such as cramping after each use, breast started to leaking, and I had huge build up of the waxy layer of progesterone.

It made my cervix worse and they decided last minute to give me the cerclage.

I have been on the suppositories for about 12weeks and no side effects

I'm on the shot now but I started out using the suppositories. I didn't really have any side effects besides increased discharge and it could increase your chances of getting yeast infections.
