Question about supply
I exclusively pump and supplement with formula. I only pump 3 times per day and get 10 ounces total on average. My little guy will turn one on Thanksgiving. Will I eventually just dry up? When will that happen? (I imagine it varies widely.) Any information would be appreciated. I was going to stop pumping when Duke turns 1, but maybe I'll keep going until I can't produce any longer.
I think you're supposed to try to do it gradually. It probably won't take long since you have a low supply (so do I). Maybe reduce the timing of the middle pump slowly until you can remove it all together. Then reduce the time of the other two pumps slowly over a few days and I assume you'll start to dry up.
If you're trying to dry up, then don't pump until all the way empty. Just pump enough to reduce any discomfort.
Good luck.
My breast are heavy and full with milk but when I squeeze nothing comes out and when I try to pump nothing is pumped into the breast pump its like I have milk but its stuck and wont come out...any tips or help on this.. i really would like to breastfeed my daughter....
Just curious..
When did you ladies first have sex? I had just turned 18 when I did.
when your children turn 18
How old will you be?
I had just turned 19 when I found out I was pregnant, and 20 when I gave birth. I'll be 21 in April! Are there any mamas on here close to my age??
I exclusively pumped. When I was weaning, I slowly cut pumps until I only pumped once a day. Then I got fed up with that and just stopped. There was about a week to week and a half where I needed to hand express a little each day just to remove knots and restore comfort, but the taps turned off pretty darn fast.
