A lot of early pregnancy symptoms are caused by rising progesterone levels, and pregnancy tests don't pick those up

Yes, just because the levels aren't up to what the tests needs doesn't mean it's not there. Some woman are known to expierence symptoms the day after conception some don't show any signs. Give it a few more days and test again.
