Neep opinions...
I recently squeezed both my breast and had white sticky fluid come out of them only small amounts though... i have a work mate who has two kids of her own and am quiet close with her... i told her about it and she said to continue to squeeze my boobs as it will help bring my milk in. Is this true? And what are some other methods to help bring my milk in?

What pp said. Your milk won't come in until after you've had your baby.

No, just leave it alone. Like pp said you can cause contractions. Don't start worrying about milk until the baby is here.

Your work mate is incorrect. There's no reason to stimulate milk production before baby arrives. In some cases it can lead to premature labor.

If your pregnancy is normal and you aren't on any type of restriction/aren't high risk, nipple stimulation shouldn't cause you to go into preterm labor. Your uterus can start to contract if you're breastfeeding/pumping or if you have an orgasm, it's normal and usually fine, unless of course there are other issues with the pregnancy. However I've never heard of it increasing your supply and unless you're currently nursing, I don't see a reason to continue to manually express milk. But maybe ask your OB if she's right about that.
ETA: Ok so I got curious and looked it up. From what I saw there are actually some benefits to hand expressing during pregnancy. The article I read said ideally you want to wait until 32-34 weeks. Sometimes babies have a little trouble breastfeeding at first, and having colostrum already expressed can help make sure baby is getting your milk from day 1. It says you'll be more familiar with your breasts and how to get the colostrum out which is great for obvious reasons. If your baby has to go to the NICU, having expressed milk is ideal and that can be hard to do with the craziness that comes with birth and hospitals. So your friend might be onto something. I'd definitely ask your OB and do a little research to see what you're comfortable with. ☺

Thank you everyone! I will ask my doctor about this when i see him next. If not I see my midwife next week Monday and ill ask her.
@Brittney im just worried as my mother was never able to breastfeed me and my younger siblings she reckons due to stress and the abuse she was getting from my father (now divorced and she has re-married a better man). I definitely dont want to go into early labour but it mainly all started as i had a milk pimple that wouldnt go away and my SO squeezed it and i noticed my breast had this white sticky fluid leave them after he did so.

@brittany I was told the same and at my NCT birthing birthing and mother classes we had a mother come in that was told to express her coliseum into a little syringe and freeze in case troubles breastfeeding and she said she was so happy she did it. A lot of the women in my class struggled in the first few days breastfeeding. Personally I won't be doing that not to do from premature labour as I'm 37 weeks and told from 37 -40 baby coming is fine.
