???????????? I went to the restroom for just a couple minute...... My son got my daughters formula off of the counter and now its all over the floor. I want to cry. It was all I had right now. And it was a brand new can.
Although she has been a little behind in general because she didn't gain much weight in the first 4 months of her life. She was only 9lbs at 4 months old. I could pump 9oz of breast milk at a time so I thought she was getting enough to eat and she was but my milk didn't have the fats and stuff that she needed to grow so she didn't gain weight and she was really behind for a while. I switched her to formula and she gained weight very quick and shes been a happy healthy baby :) and she is chewing better now in the last two weeks its like she's been a lot better at eating. I said in another comment she is starting to get the hang of it now. I just want to make sure she's getting enough.
That was the plan. I mentioned that she will be seeing a doctor about it soon. But yeah I am taking her to be seen soon. I have not had this issue before because like I said my son ate food very easily so I didn't know it was something I should talk to her doctor about until my mother mentioned a possible tongue tie (my half sister who is almost 2 had one) I just thought my daughter was a bit behind on eating because I know some babies learn to eat at their own pace.
Have u tried baby lead weaning? She should be able to eat soft solids at a year old. I’d def bring that up when she gets checked out. I’m sure she’s due for her big 1 year check up!! Also when switching to cows milk from formula I would slowing decrease the formula and add whole milk. Maybe talk to her pediatrician ask about that. It was so awesome not to but formula anymore lol!!!
At a year old, it is very concerning that she cannot chew well, and especially something like puréed food. I don't know that this would have much to do with a tongue tie as much as it could have to do with muscle development in her mouth. When is her 1 year old appointment? It is definitely something that needs to be brought up to her pediatrician so you can get this taken care of.
She eats everytime my son eats. So 3 meals and 2/3 snacks a day along with a bottle before her nap and a bottle before bed.
Yes we feed her. When she eats purees it just comes right out of her mouth. She can munch on things she can hold like veggie straws. She can eats soft things like bread but she doesn't chew very well yet. She's getting better about eating the fast few weeks but she's struggled for months just recently she is starting to get the hang of it. She eats yogurt drops, baby puffs. The arrowroot cookies. We try to feed her the fruit and veggie pouches. She will eat soft breads and macaroni.
We've started putting her on whole milk but she doesn't eat food very well yet she's just starting to be able to eat normal foods and I'm not used to that because my son was ready by 8 months to eat regular foods but we were thinking she may have a tongue tie and we didn't notice before. We are going to have her tongue checked soon. I have been giving her formula still because I'm worried if she doesn't eat enough of the foods we give her that with the regular milk it won't be enough nutrients for her so I still give her some formula until she's used to eating food. I recently bought a liquid multivitamin for babies who are transitioning from formula to food and we are going to give her that.
I can't get anymore until tomorrow so I didn't really have a choice. The rest of it that touched the floor was swept up and thrown away.
Yeah as you can see there's a big pile of it in the middle. I just scooped the top half of the pile up and saved it. And my daughter is a year old.
That’s good!! She may just be like u said a little slower at learning. That’s ok if that’s the case. But def talk about transitioning to whole milk from formula!! So much less expensive lol!! Hope she makes out well with her year check up!! I’d wait to talk to the pedi about the switch to whole milk anyway ya know?! I did with my kids. Make a list of things to ask the dr!! Cause i know that helps me. There’s so much info given to u in such a short visit so I always make list haha!! I’d forget everything if I didn’t
