I had my second and final child in April via Vaginal birth. I signed the form for the tubal at my last check up. I was induced and had to have an epidural. About 45 minutes after delivery they took me to an OR and put different meds into the epidural line and did the procedure. After they took me to recovery where DH and DS2 were waiting. They propped my arms with pillows and baby went right back on my chest for more bonding. When I felt up to it our parents and ds1 were brought back in at my request for some more family time. They were very accommodating and did everything possible to give bonding time top priority.
If you have any other questions please feel free to ask!
i am due next month. is it too late to sign a form to have it done after the birth?
yeah i had my first vaginally and i plan to again with my second so i was hoping id be able to get it done after the birth but ive heard some women have pain in their and other side effects
I got my tubes removed during my csection. There was no difference in pain between this birth and my last birth also by csection. There's no time, other than the standard 6 weeks, that I have to wait for sex or to use condoms. There's also a reduced chance of cancer and increased protection against pregnancy than a regular tubal ligation. I really didn't want any surprise babies in my 40s. I couldn't handle that.
My MIL and mother both had vaginal births and tubal ligations the day after the birth. They went through their belly buttons and there was no additional scar. Neither of them got pregnant after or had any complications. They both said it wasn't very painful at all, but take that with a grain of salt as the further you're away from a procedure, the less you remember. Random I know, but we were talking about it while I was waiting for surgery.
thank you. I would love to have time to meet my new child before going for surgery.
