South Padre vacation help!
We're leaving for south padre on Thursday and I need some ideas for what to do! We plan to go to the beach in the mornings. I have Sea Turtle, Inc on our list and I found a petting zoo as well. Dd is 2 so is there anything else she would enjoy there? We'd also love to find some shopping there as well! Google has not been very helpful.
We used to live about 3o min away from spi. They have a fun pirate ship for kids and family at Pirate's Landing restaurant (on the left) before you cross the queen Isabella bridge. They have great activities for the kids on the ship and will take you straight to the fireworks if you get the evening tour. After you go over the bridge to the right there is a Schlitterbaun indoor/out door water park and right across from the Schlitterbaun they have dolphin watch tours . YOU HAVE TO GO EAT AT DIRTY ALS, it's yummy.
The petting zoo is alright ;it's at the horse stables. I used to work there 8 yrs ago as a tour guide for the horseriding on the beach :) (which is where I met my hubby) which is also a fun thing to do but with a 2 yr old I don't recommend it.
Oh wow! Long trip ahead of y'all! Well, Padre does have these little shopping stores in a plaza. Nothing crazy, although they have the best seafood restaurants ever! Daddy's and Dirty Al's. Yum! Dolphin watch is always fun. Clayton's is the place to be. Music, drinks, volley ball and it's for family of all ages.
Do you think schlitterbahn will be worth the money for a 2 year old? I'm just worried she won't have much to enjoy and it's expensive!
