39 weeks tomorrow :) bitter sweet moment. This is my 4th and final baby, any ladies planning this pregnancy as your last? What form of birth control will you be using? I am considering the birth control arm implant, any experiences?
Sounds like many ladies had bad experiences with the implant. I'm curious what birth control would be best? I just assumed all the birth controls (pills, iud, etc) used the same hormone medicine to stop ovulation. Is the medicine used with implanon different?
this is my 2nd and i'm 100% sure i don't want more lol! but my husband doesn't seem too confident on the decision, maybe because he is the one getting fix lol.
i did use the implant after my DD and it was a bad experience for me, from the moment i got it, i never got my period until i decided to removed it, i gained so much weight and i was always mad for no reason, but the main reason i choose to removed it was because i became really sick with gallbladder stones that turn into infection that almost kill me! it sounds like one thing has nothing to do with the other but after a lot of research and even one doctor asking me if i just had a baby? according to her gallbladder stones also form due to hormones so right after the surgery i remove it! i will never recommend!!
I had the arm implant and didn’t have a bad experience. I loved it, I’m horrible about taking the pill.
I finally took it out because my moods were everywhere and it was effecting how I was treating my husband and kiddos. But that didn’t start happening until I had it for 2 years!
This is our last baby and I am getting my tubes tied with this one!
Thanks Ladies! I've never used any type of birth control other then condoms. So this will be my first time experiencing any hormonal methods. I really hope I won't be having such horrible reactions as some of you ladies, I'm sorry to hear it.
I had the arm implant and it gave me the craziest mood swings and terrible periods. I ended up getting it out after a few months of not being able to take it anymore. Caused too much fighting between my fiancé and I. But I also know a few women who have had nothing but great experiences with it. I think it just depends on how your body will react.
I'm on our 4th and last. #3 was going to be our last, we did natural family planning successfully until we decided we wanted 1 more, had a miscarriage Nov 2016. Used natural family planning again to get thru a planned vacation and then tried again and here we are. We will do the same again until hubby doesn't want to take the "risk" anymore haha and he will get a vasectomy at that point because in the 17yrs we've been together birth control has always been on me.
I had the implanon too, I've tried it 3 times.. all 3 times were terrible. I bled non stop for months, with doctors telling me it takes up to 3 months to settle, it never did. I had awful pms symptoms and put on alot of weight. It also turned me into and emotional rollercoaster!. On tge other hand my mum had it in for 5 yrs never got a period and completely skipped menopause. So i guess it just depends. Try it because it might work great for you. I'm going to try either the Deprovera injection or the copper IUD after this bub as we want at least a 2yr gap between our next one.
Well I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who is planning to be done after this. Its defiantly a hard desicison but I'm ready to move to the next chapter in life. My body just doesn't handle pregnancy well, especially with the horrible varicose veins that rub up and down my legs. The pain is unreal, and pregnancy makes it worse. I am defiantly going to be googling all the types of birth control prior to choosin one :) I'm surprised how many ladies are on their 4th as well
I was 39 weeks today! Just gave birth to our third and last this morning! Definitely emotional bittersweet moment!? my husband got a vasectomy a few weeks ago and I’m planning on getting a tubal after I heal. I never personally had the implant but a friend of mine did and she bleed for 6mos straight and gained a bunch of weight when they went to take it out they couldn’t find it and she had to be put under to find and remove it.
This is my 4th and final too. I had the implanon for 3 years. It did the job. I did gain 15kg (30 pound) in the first 6 months on it though. I didn't get a cycle for the first 12 months and then i only got af every 3-4 months but it could last 2-5 weeks. I think it affects everyone differently. My husband has now had a vasectomy as we are definitely done :)
You look great!
My 4th too, and i am hoping to keep it at 4. I’ve been pregnant or breastfeeding for 7 years now and I need a break! I use natural planning for religious reasons as well, but I’ve been doing a really bad job of it obviously. This time I’m going to have to learn the methods properly because I think once you track your cycle diligently it leaves little room for error.
This is our 4th pregnancy but 3rd baby and we are done! My husband was really done before we started trying for #3. I understand completely about the fear of later wanting another. Everytime my babies turn 1 I start daydreaming about a new baby. We are going for permanent options. My husband will be getting a vasectomy unless I have to have a csection, in that case I will have my tubes tied.
Ladies I am almost scared that if I don't make a more permanent solution then I'll want another one lol. It's horrible because I know my body can't handle any more pregnancies yet I feel I'll forget that later on
@Abbey what experience did she have that made it bad? Thanks any info would be great. I'm super nervous about starting a hormonal birth control. We always used condoms

A Statement from Mom.Life:
Hey everyone!
Last night, a new user began messaging our moms asking for private pictures of toddlers and young children. This is obviously unacceptable behavior, and the account was banned immediately. Although thankfully extremely rare on Mom.Life, several users were understandably upset by this, so we wanted to clarify a few things:
First off, Mom.Life has an absolute zero tolerance policy for child abuse and those who would prey on children. We strive to ...
need suggestions....
So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.
