How to Spell Elliotte or Eliotte for a Girl?
Elliotte or Eliotte
Hi, all! I absolutely love Elliotte/Eliotte for a girl, but the problem is, I don't know how to spell it, and I need feminine middle name suggestions... I know, the traditional way to spell Elliott for a girl is Elliette or Elliot, but I don't really like "ette" or just the one "t" on the end. I like the "o" (ott) instead, but I do like the "e" on the end like in Elliette. I know, confusing. So please, help me with spelling and a middle name. No negative comments would be appreciated.. Thank you, all! :)

That's why I think I'm going to stick with Elliotte. It Looks feminine, and oddly enough, I also thought it looked great in cursive. ?

My daughter is Elliette Kay and every time people confirm her gender after only seeing it on paperwork they always say "I figured because of the spelling" which seems to help in my opinion! I feel it totally makes it feminine and is so fun to write in cursive ?

I think Eliot is more masculine, and I love having at least one set of double letters like the traditional version. But thank you for your suggestion. :)

What about Eliot. I've seen it spelled that way for a girl

Anymore middle name suggestions?? Only family names I like with it are Pearl and Rose, but Rose is way overused these days.

Thank you everyone! I really love the "e" on the end, too. I think the -otte ending reminds me of Charlotte, which is really feminine and pretty. :)

I think either could work but I'm leaning more towards Elliotte. I love how you put the E on the end to make it look more feminine.

Elliotte! & tell your husband you love the name and it's an awesome coincidence it's his cousins name. He'll more than likely think it's sweet of you to want to name your baby after him.

Sailor is a pretty middle name :)

I vote for the two Ls. Elliotte. Just one L makes me think of elote (corn in Spanish).

Suggestion would be to talk it out with hubby and see how he takes it. Can't hurt to ask?
I had it on my name list, but went with a different name for my lil boy.
Always here to chat or msg me??

I haven't brought it up, because I have been telling myself to get over it, and move on, yet I can't forget it! We are still ttc. ?I'm just getting a head start to try to make naming go more smoothly this time. We live far away from his aunt, so I feel like it would be awkward to bring it up over phone or text. I told my hubby's sister about it, and she didn't seem to think it would be okay, but I never mentioned possibly talking to their aunt about it. I have liked this name for a long time, and have tried to push it aside, but I can't!

I love using memorable names or names that have meaning??

I think it's usea but I can understand your reluctants. What does hubby think? Could he bring it up with his aunt and family?

Saylor Grey is still my favorite, ? but only because Elliott is complicated for us.. It was my hubby's cousin's name who passed away as an infant. They were only a month apart, and I think it would be a great way to honor him, I just don't want his aunt to be upset, and I don't know how to bring it up. I don't want cousin Elliott's siblings to be mad if they ever want to use it for a middle name either. I'm all about sharing names especially when they mean something, but some people aren't. If I didn't love the name so much, I wouldn't even bring it up. It's hard! I hope I don't sound heartless for still loving it. ? I can't get it off my mind!!

That's why I do love the double "l".. Yet I don't like names to be too long. I know, it's just one letter! Thank you, ladies for your comments. :) Do you have any middle name suggestions?
deleted-user·
Oh really lol
I've just always liked it?
Not a fan of doubling both 'LL' & 'TT'.
deleted-user·
i like the double "ll"
think it adds to the femininity, & help with pronunciation.

Confession: I got the one "L" idea from you. ? I normally don't like two double letters in a name, and I didn't know if Elliotte was too long. One letter does make a difference in length in my opinion lol!

I'd spell it Eliotte ??
