Having a negative RH

When looking up online with a incomplete miscarriage ifyou have a negative blood type you need a shot of winrho or something? Did anyone with a negative blood type have to have such a thing? I'm O- and paranoid if I need to or not before I try again after I complete miscarrying first.

I've just had a miscarriage and they said I didn't need it as pregnancy was so early. And miscarriage was nothing to do with my being rh neg either.

With my daughter I had a jab half way through pregnancy and again once she was born as she has positive blood type.

Hope this helps x

I'm B- and I just got a shot. I'm not miscarrying this pregnancy but I am at risk so they gave me the shot because my fiancé has O+

I think it depends whether your child is - or +. If you are both - I don't think there is a problem. But don't quote me on that!

I had my D&C today and I'm RH negative, they gave me the shot at the hospital. The Doc explained you always need one after any birth/miscarriage. I hope this helps you.

I'm a- and had the rhogam shot after my d&c (dec 13th) after they did the surgery she gave me the shot the same day. You're supposed to get it any time you have a bleed, or half way thru pregnancy after they test your blood, and after giving birth

Hi, I have a negative rhesus (A-). I had a miscarriage on 8 January at 21 weeks and got my shot. The doctor said the shot should be taken up to 72 hours after birth. It helps your next pregnancy.

You can have further blood work done to see if the antibodies are in your blood. I'd definitely recommend it for both of you ladies. Ask your doctor... It's a simple, single vial of blood and they can see if the Rhogam is still working.

I had a natural mc at 10 1/2 weeks last April and I didn't get the injection. I phoned the hospital and they said they don't routinely give it unless its a medical mc. Even tho it was nearly a year ago, are my future pregnancies at risk now?? Sx

You should get the shot if you are negative blood type. Rhogan I believe is what its called and if you have a miscarriage and do not get the shot it could cause your body to attack your fetus in your next pregnancy see a doctor asap.

Can you miscarry if you don't? I keep questioning cuz my first pregnancy was fine and I had the shot I think when I was halfway or little over halfway pregnant with my first but didn't get a shot after giving birth.

I'm A- and get the Rhogam shot after any bleeding, within hours after birth and half way through pregnancy. I have to get it because dh has a positive blood type.

I'm O negative as well if you are miscarrying you need to go in for a Rhogam injection.

You definitely need the shot. I'm O- and have had it after every bleed, miscarriage and birth. And it has to be within 72 hours of it starting.

I have A+ so I didn't have to get the shot but my DR tested my blood when I miscarried because she said if I was O- I would have to have a shot.. I'm sorry!

has anyone heard about having to have a shot because of your blood type?!? a friend told me she was O- (negative) and had to have a shot mid way through pregnancy because if she didn't her blood would fight off the babies blood like it was an infection or disease. I don't know what my blood type is but if it's anything negative like she said I'm going to be asking the doctor!! that's crazy to me!

I was told I didn't have to get the Rhogam shot because I have A+ blood. In school I have learned that if I have negative blood and the baby has positive that there would be a higher risk for miscarriage and even not being able to get pregnant with a second child after the first and not getting that shot. How does it work with me having positive blood instead of negative and not knowing what type my son is since his dad doesn't know his blood type?
