If you do the math, 40 weeks divided by 3 trimesters (40/3), you get 13 1/3 (thirteen and one third). If you divide a week into thirds (7/3), you get 2 1/3 (two and one third). So...TECHNICALLY, you start your second trimester at 13 weeks and 2 1/3 days :) If you're not a total numbers nerd like me though, most people consider the start of your thirteenth week to also be the start of your second trimester.
