Pumping on a night out

Looking for tips to pump during a night out. We've been invited to a wedding and that will be my longest outing since having my daughter. I think I'll need to pump once, maybe twice while we're at the wedding. Any tips for doing this (including storing and washing)? Thanks in advance!

I just saw and and replied to this post of yours in the exclusively pumping board...

I have the medela pump in style advanced (backpack version). it came with a cooler (including ice pack) and battery pack, so it's travel ready. I also picked up some wipes for the pump so I can clean it when I don't have access to a sink. it's an expensive pump, but I got it free through my insurance.

Yeas! ??the Mandela manual harmony!! It's like $30 at Wal-Mart and worth every penny and more!!

I've never used my electric pump outside of the house so I'm no help there, but this is the manual pump I have. I use it more than the electric one:

I only have a double electric pump. Any suggestions using this hardware?

If not, any recommendations for a manual pump?

Thanks ladies!

I second what @Marla said. Manual pump, rinse with cold water, put in a plastic baggie. Keep a cooler with and ice pack in your car for storage

If I only need to pump once I take my hand pump. Much easier to tote around and the parts can easily be rinsed and bagged then fully washed when I get home.

Breast pump covered by insurance

I've already done what I needed to find out what type of pump I get covered through insurance. It turns out, with my insurance, I can't even get my pump shipped to me until I call them with all the birth details of my baby. So...wth am I supposed to do having a baby and no pump?! I plan to pump exclusively and this REALLY throws a wrench in my plans.

You may want to ask your doctor for a prescription for a hospital grade pump if you
