Ruining potty training?
My 19 month old occasionally tells us when he needs to poop by pointing at his butt, then going to his potty. He's used it twice in the past couple of weeks.
He's still pretty young so I say just go at his pace. If he wants to use the potty then great, let him. If he doesn't, then don't push him. If he starts going more and more then maybe switch him to pull-ups and teach him how to pull his pants up and down. Just go slow and don't be surprised if he regresses at some point.
I always let me ds to use it when he wanted to. Never tried to push him. At first I did want to start potty training him but he showed no interest. Suddenly one day at about 2-1/2 he just went or in his undies and he literally wash just trained like he was done with diapers and from then on he rarely has accidents. Go at his speed. ?
Thanks for sharing your experience, kzim!
Kelly, I've just sat his potty in front of the toilet. He sits on it all the time fully clothed, and he's been giving cues about being about to poop by pointing for a while (mostly while he poops, occasionally before). I just stuck him on the potty when he started acting like he was gonna poop... and he did!
Of course, he looked in the potty and freaked out when something was there. He was scared of it. ? Second time, he was still unsure about it.
He's getting what the potty is for, but I don't think he's ready for 100% training.
I did the samw thing with my boys, i just had the potty out and before and after bath every night would put them on it, if they went, great, if not..no biggie. I stsrted at 20 month so i think your son is good on his own. I did this for probably 4-6months and then by the time.my sons were 30 months they were completwly trained. I would just follow your sons ques.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

my LO Is in daycare and they won't help with potty training until she's 2. She won't be two until March.
we bought a potty and I put her on when she wakes up every morning.
that's the most consistent we got lol.
she can't tell me she has to go yet so no rush.
