Well, I wound up in the ER with inflammation in my lungs before my shift today (late side effect from a lingering cough from a cold I had last week). I took it as a sign, on top of some other things, that the job wasn't for me. I didn't really agree with a lot of their methods for doing things, but I was going to suck it up.
However, I really feel I'm meant to work with children... just maybe have them leave me instead of the reverse. I've been considering getting my Montessori certification. I think this sealed the deal. Or maybe a different, calmer daycare. This one saw 100+ kids a day, with a few regulars.
I still can't get that little boy's sad face out of my mind. I'm sure he's thoroughly loved and taken care of. It just broke my heart to see him so sad and feeling abandoned in the room, and then by me leaving.
Thanks for all the comments. I truly appreciate them, and I took them all to heart.
I worked in a daycare my first pregnancy and quit after like a month .. Not tht it wasnt for me but i saw how some kids were treated or lack of for that matter and i couldnt stand by and watch. I wanted to cuddle all the babies and was told there was no cuddle time ????? and they told the parents they took kids outside daily...and deff didnt.
I think your reason is valid. I love kids and deff see where you are coming from? you are an amazing person!
Please don't quit you care and that's amazing! Yes that poor baby was upset when you were leaving but think about how much worse he would have felt all day without having you there. Every parent wants to know that their child is being taken care of by someone who genuinely cares about them. If you do end up quitting know that the work you did mattered to that child and hopefully to parent.
I cried my entire ride home after my first day working in a daycare as well. My reasons weren't near as sweet as yours, though, I was just 100% overwhelmed with what I was thrown into. Lol Your heart is in the right place. If you feel like it's too much for you, that's ok, but I do think things will get easier for you. ❤
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
TWW!!
2dpo and on the tww journey. Anyone on the same dpo or close? Haven't decided if I will test at 12dpo or just wait and see if she shows up!!
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
I agree with what you're thinking about. I think your heart is in the right place to work in a daycare but you could find a place that's a better fit for your personality. Good luck!
