There is a difference between it being sunken in and it just being lower.

They don't have any bone there so it's gonna indent slightly no matter what until it closes.

Personally if he is eating well and having enough diapers as well as acting normal I wouldn't worry. I also wouldn't give formula either just breastfeed more but that's my personal opinion. The more you give formula the more your supply will decrease.

As for galactagogues I liked Brewers yeast. Definitely just make lactation cookies. There is a pill I sometimes take called more milk special blend by mothers love. It has goats rue, fenugreek, blessed thistle, nettle, and fennel all galactagogues.

There are a bunch of lactation recipes on pinterest. Honestly it sounds normal to me. So long as your LO is peeing and pooping I wouldn't worry. As for red in the diaper that can be caused by different things other than dehydration. Like an irritated bum, or uric crystals which have in the past been associated with dehydration but no longer is according to the latest research. Keep up the breastfeeding! You're doing awesome!!

Even with the lack of weight gain for a week?

I guess if he still has low weight gain on Friday, I'll start the galactagogues. He doesn't tolerate the formulas we've tried in the past (we were scared into it for a couple weeks in the beginning), so I'd really, REALLY like to avoid that. I'm doing my best to EBF.

If you have a little extra cash I recommend more milk plus pills. They have fenugreek and some other stuff in them and they helped me out so much. They're like $26 a bottle but so worth it. I couldn't tolerate the tea and the cookies didn't work for me. But since taking the pills I havnt had any moments where I wasn't making enough.

Also, when Lilly was sick and wasn't nursing as much the dr told me to give her pedialite. Never said anything about giving her formula. She was 7 months though. Idk if younger babies can have pedialite, but it helps with hydration. If your lo can have it maybe give them some after nursing.

Update: I guess it was an off week last week. Since last Thursday, LO has gained 10 oz!

I don't understand why his soft spot gets kind of scary low, but I guess he's fine and not dehydrated since he's gaining again.
