Hypothetical situation.

If you were a nursing, cosleeping mom to a 6-week old baby...

So I'm in a lucky position. My husband works swing so he gets home at 11 and takes over from 11-2/3. He changes him then brings him to me to feed, then baby and I sleep(him on me) then if he wakes up before 7 I usually don't change him again. As for burping, I never night burp... It's never even been a problem for him. 95% of the time he falls asleep and sleeps for at least 30 mins if not more with my boob still in his mouth. I don't even burp after every feed during the day if he falls asleep. He hasn't had problems.

I would change but not burp. But I'd only change because I hate the idea of knowing there's even the littlest bit of wetness just sitting there

Hypothetical situation: you and husband are getting it on and baby wakes up and starts crying. Do you try to finish or quit and get baby? ?

If the diaper is really really full I would change her because I wouldn't want it to leak

But sometimes I don't burp my baby at night because I'm afraid she'll wake up! She'll spit up a bit later but other than that this never really bothered her!!

If he's soaked I'd change him, if it's not too bad if wait. And if he dozed off of let him sleep, he'll burp on his own or when he wakes up. Lol. I have done both of these!!

I read somewhere that breastfed babies don't need to be burped because if their latch is right they won't be sucking in any air. I cosleep with my daughter and when she's done eating I just let her sleep. There is no point in burping and waking her up to have to comfort and possibly nurse her back to sleep

I definitely wouldn't wake the baby up to change a wet diaper, only if its poopy too. My little guy is constantly wet because of how much he pees! And for the burping thing, my baby let's me know when he really needs to burp by squirming and grunting and I def burp him if he's doing that but if he's relaxed and asleep, I would leave him be.

I change baby while im in a sleep, i guess we have our arguments my honey wakes up to her getting mad at me changing her i don't even remember i also know how to without waking up baby if i feel like i would wake up baby, i just grab a diaper and wipes and latch baby on to my breast and change them while breastfeeding. If they are too wet i wait til 6am when i wake up.

I don't change my son at night unless he is poppy or bothered by being wet.

I always change or burp my LO if they need it and they happen to be sleeping .. I figure if there tired they'll go back to sleep I can change my daughter or burp her while she's sleeping and majority of the time she doesn't wake up

This is what I currently do: if she stirs, I breastfeed her and if she falls asleep I let her sleep - no burping or diaper change. If she doesn't fall asleep and / or gets fussy I check and burp.

Нравится Ответить

I sometimes change her when she first stirs since she tends to fall back asleep at the boob. Sometimes I don't. Like someone said, they pee constantly. I don't worry too much. If she fusses or stirs and wants to be changed or burped than I do it. Generally we nurse and snuggle back to bed

I tend to let my munchkin sleep if they are fully asleep regardless if they need to burp or have a diaper change. My kid is a good sleeper and a wet diaper or small burp won't bother her.

I think it depends on how wet my dd is. If she's soaked through to her clothes and in a puddle id change her! But just a little wet diaper I'd wait and not wake her. As for burping I'm guilty of this every night if she falls asleep I leave her asleep. She doesn't seem uncomfortable so I let it be

I started changing his diaper before every feeding at night. Then swaddle and feed and he's all calmed down. I know it's just pee and babies who sleep through don't get changed, but I can't leave it.

Nope I don't change pee diapers unless absolutely necessary. After nursing I put her on my shoulder for about 5 min and if nth happens then I lay her down.

Нравится Ответить

If my dd is really wet then I'll change her because I don't want to risk her leaking through. As far as burping goes I usually just put her on the boob and we fall back to sleep without burping, unless she seems uncomfortable.

I would change the diaper since I'd be worried about it leaking onto my bed/mattress (which has happened already!)

Burping. Nope. Sleep.

I change my baby if I smell poop which is every night.i don't burp her though for feel of waking her. I also heard that bf babies don't need to be burped often. When I try during the day I rarely get a burp.

I would change him and finish the feeding and burping I think my son might fuss for a min but I'm the end he would asleep longer

I only change a pee diaper at night if it's really wet or he's awake. I don't burp when we're cosleeping unless he starts to wiggle like he has trapped gas. Often all I need to do is sit him up and he'll burp. If I'm overly full I'll burp him but I know he gets a lot of air when in like that and he'll spit up if I don't.

I never change my baby when she is sleeping the doctor told me it's okay to let them skeep through pee but no poop due to the acid. I also don't burp when she feeds on the breast only from the bottle when she's sleeping. Doctor said that's fine as well

I can relate, and I don't change his diaper unless he poops. As for burping, we cosleep too and I just prop him up over my side as we lay there and pat his back for a minute. He usually wakes up a little but is super out if it, and if he burps I lay him back down next to me, and if I pat for a minute and no burp, I lie him down again. Sometimes it takes him a little bit to go back to sleep, but if I don't burp him he'll fuss and thrash around if there's gas in there. It's been working for us.

I figured this out lately. Her diaper is never very full anyway so I leave it and she sleeps longer. Same with burping. She is not great at bringing up her wind but will often burp in her sleep and be fine.

I would never wake my baby to change a pee diaper. He's constantly peeing. So it would be wet again in 5 minutes. He wakes up every two hours though anyways. My daughter though slept 8+ hours and she survived lol. I do try to burp him if he's fallen asleep or else he will get a tummy ache.

I'd leave him in pee but not poop. And I always try to burp. But give up around the 10 min mark. BF babies don't always need to burp. But burping never wakes my guy. I think it puts him to sleep.

I change her when this happens. She always goes back to sleep as soon as she has a clean diaper. When she wakes up hungry I feed, burp, and she goes back to sleep.

Girl i never change her if shes just peed i always just smell her and if shes pooped then i do even if she wakes up but if shes just peed i leave her like that, and about the burping most of the time i just lay her down because it takes forever for her to burp and most of the time she doesnt.

I say I would change him, but we've been very lucky & dd sleeps through the night now, formula makes a big difference on how she sleeps. When we bf she was up every couple of hours, so it's easy for me to say I would change her lol. At least the lasy 3 nights shes slept all night! Hope im not jinxing myslef! But I would definitely burp, because my LO spits up worse of I don't and chances are if I didn't she would spit up and in the case of cosleeping it'd be all over me and my bed too which would be bad.

When my baby falls asleep without burping, I can't get a burp out of him. I sit him up and he's just all limp and dead to the world. It hasn't hurt him, and he's one gassy little guy. If I noticed it hurting him later, I would stop.

And I've been wondering about whAt everyone else does about the burping....I've been guilty just letting him fall asleep without burping! But often times I burp too. It's a nightmare though because it wakes him up and it's almost impossible to get him to sleep again.

I would probably go ahead and change him, if he's really really wet and he will sleep that long! Chances are he will overflow out his diaper. If he wasn't going to sleep so long, I probably would have left him! There have been many times my LO stirs and is wet, and I just leave him because I know he will be up in an hour! And he's been fine every time.
