Have any other moms that have had multiple kids ever did the exercise of massaging your (down there) with oil so when the baby comes out you don't tear ? A girl that I know told me this yesterday and she said that it worked for her and that she didn't tear at all and it got me wondering if it actually work or not for other mothers that have had multiples pregancys

I don’t know if it will work or not, I think it’s more of a hit or missed. But it doesn’t hurt to try ? I had the snip with my first ? same as my sister

I didn’t do it but while I was pushing my last 2 babies I asked them to massage me while I pushed and I didn’t need an episiotomy. I did tear a bit with my second and needed one or 2 stitches. It wasn’t bad, I had an episiotomy with my first because I needed help getting her out so they had to use the vacuum.

FTM here too, we touched this topic in my recent antenatal class. It’s called perineal massage, and should start at 34 weeks. I’m doing it now, I’m not just sure if I’m doing it right ?. I’m using olive oil.

I’m a ftm as well and my mom told me to do this starting around 34 weeks once a day, I use organic coconut oil to oil myself anyways so I just grub some down there daily ? I figured it couldn’t hurt and it is organic and good for you anyways

My first two pregnancies I didn't do it at all and needed a few stitches both times :( so by my 3rd pregnancy I decided to ask my dr and she said it's really only effective if the dr does it as baby is coming down and out. So I took her advice and asked for it during pushing and it was amazing no stitches. Same thing with my 4th and I plan on asking again this time and hope for same results ?

Yes it is a big hit in all the natural birthing book's. You can use water based lube, olive oil, coconut oil ect. You lube down there and ur finger....make sure u washed ur hand firts....And fingernail is cut...you insert thump and press toward ur butt...no not in ur butt. Just press down toward it. Hold for a min. If it is a sore feeling ur doing it right. Then kinda make a U shape back and forth for a few min. I hear it stretches the area and start at 34 weeks once a day. Can't hurt to try.

This is my 4th...

i ripped with my 1st very bad because i wasnt listening to the doctor when she told me to stop pushing (i was young and its second nature to want to just push until the baby comes out cause of the pressure).

Second, i did a lot better and only tore a little cause i still was pushing but not as much as my first.

Third, i got the hang of it and just focused on my husbands voice, he would repeat everything the doctor said... theres so many noises and people talking and doing things, its easiest to just zero in on your spouses voice. I didnt tear at all with my 3rd cause i followed the directions ?

Never did the massage.

My last pregnancy which was my first, the midwife did while i was pushing and the baby head was crowning. I had a tiny tear and had to get stitched so i would definitely say it works. Im considering it again

This chick that works with my boyfriend really confessed her love to my man and then went into tears when he rejected her. (Mind you, he works in a kitchen and tells everyone about me and the fact that I’m pregnant and how excited he is to have a son.) Apparently she’s started to cause him problems at work and getting jealous when he talks other females, me included😂 Like this hoe really tried it😩😂🤪
