Anyone else working on getting their baby attached to a lovey? I sure am! She likes it so far.
Benefits from what I understand is the lovie is a good transitional object and sleep cue/ comfort object. So instead of a pacifier or nursing to sleep you give the baby a lovie instead which is better in the long run. I'm just hoping it works for me, my LO is addicted to the pacifier for sleep and wakes up needing it at night?
Shes so adorable ???I think it’s soooo cute to see babies with their blankets n I can see how it calms them but I’ve seen how my sister sometimes struggles with her kids. They sometimes forget the blanket n her kids are super fussy n refuse to nap. I also provided counseling services to a 6th grader that was not able to get rid of his blanket n took it to school everyday. He started getting bullied as he got older n it was very tough for him. I guess it has its pros n cons! I’m still thinking about it ?
@violet557 my mother gave me a "baby bear" growing up and she gave me these tips and I'm using them.
Bring the lovie everywhere with you and baby, even if he/She doesn't attach right off the bat.
Sleep with the lovie for a few days or week and wear it so it smells like you.
Give the lovie during feedings, naps and bedtime (remove for unsupervised sleep til 5 or 6 months).
Buy 2 if it is a unique one.
I personally got this one because, the trunk of the elephant can be sucked on, it's soft fleece and silk so different textures. I got the blanket double one because she loves to rub her face in blankets.
I hope the lovey works! Because I want to ditch the pacifier early
Oh interesting! I think I’ll give it a try. For now I’ve been putting it in my daughters hands and she kind of just throws it ?
