annoyed/ double standard
I am beyond irritated/ pissed. So on Christmas my SIL brought her sick 4 month old to the Christmas gathering thinking he wasn't contagious... even though he has been irritable, low fever, red eyes and nose also a terrible cough and groaning in discomfort. Now, why I'm so annoyed is she is the type that will literally leave a gathering if someone else's kid was sick a week prior and has been treated and recovered or if a child sneezes she freaks. Come to find out her son still feels like crap so she brought him to the doctor and he has RSV. I am beyond annoyed because other family didn't come to the gathering because their son was sick week prior and they didn't want to intrude on her because she is the type to leave the party early and they didn't want to be the cause. Now they are mad and felt left out becausd she went ahead a brought her "unknown" sick baby to the part. I'm mad too, because I could tell he was contagious just by hearing and seeing him! I have a 8 week old daughter and didn't let then get close but still, why even risk that? Babies do not cough and groan for no reason.
I would definitely be annoyed and would’ve either left myself, or ruined her Christmas.. RSV is super contagious. When my first was little, she went to a daycare and the week precious*** to her starting there there was a baby who had to be air lifted to the hospital because of RSV. I didn’t know about it, and she started daycare... guess what? Every baby got it to a degree, it was awful.. she is the only baby so far I have ever had to stay in the hospital with period, and it was multiple times.. keep an eye out for ANY symptoms of even a cold.. Good Luck!
***previous.. not precious... lol
I don’t like bringing my kid anywhere when he’s sick either. We almost missed out on Christmas weekend but my sister insisted it was okay because her girls were sick too & she didn’t want us missing out. We all got sick the week before from my cousin’s children. She had her son’s birthday party & failed to tell any of us that her kids were both sick. Coughing, fevers, throwing up all over... We didn’t know until her kids showed up with their dad & was already interacting with all the other kids before we noticed they were even sick. It was at a bouncy house too so her son was getting snot & throw up everywhere. Well we all got sick from it & her kids got better & she literally told me “I don’t wanna bring my kids around your kid until Christmas because I don’t want them getting sick again.” Like what!? But her husband actually apologized & said “sorry your son is sick, I know our kids are the ones who passed it onto everyone” & my cousin was not happy about him saying that at all ??♀️
Well if she didn’t know she didn’t know . Things are going around and if you do or don’t take your kid around someone sick there is still a possibility that your kid can get sick . Especially at family gatherings there is always a unknowingly sick person there so i probably wouldn’t take my 8wk baby to a gathering but that’s just me . ??♀️
See, she wishes everyone do that but she didn't because she just thought it was the sudden temperatures dropping for the winter season that made him feel like that.
Ugh. I'm glad she told me to keep an eye out for my DD but why not play cautious? ?
When my kids are sick I don't go to family gatherings or bring them out in public unless it's absolutely necessary like a doctors appointment or picking up a prescription from the pharmacy. We stay home when we're sick because I would hope others would do the same. I completely understand why you're aggravated. I would be just the same. If baby has a fever, it's contagious. That applies for children and adults alike. She knew better. She just didn't care.
RANT!!

Hi ladies I need help/advice! I've asked on Ovia community but I was told to stop over reacting! I thought I'd ask on here because I've been told you're a lovely group of ladies! 💕
Basically, my ex took Emily over the weekend and dropped her back this morning, I noticed that he had gotten her ears pierced!!!! I flipped at him and he told me that he thought it'd look cute! He said that she didn't even cry! I shouted at him 'just because she didn't cry it doesn't mean it didn't hurt her'! I told ...
I love how I repeatedly told my father in law not to let my daughter root through the toy box because she doesn’t want anything out of it anyway and he keeps picking her up and taking her to the toy box no matter how many times I tell her no and tell him she doesn’t even want anything out of there anyway. At first I told him “only let her get one toy” so she picks one up and he is still holding her over the toy box then tries to put her over the baby gate so she can grab more. I’m sorry but you ...
This is petty... But my MIL keeps saying she just "knows" my daughter will come on the 7th. I really hope she doesn't just because I don't need her taking credit for the rest of our lives. It's annoying enough that she is always saying she knew she was a girl before we found out, but didn't want to say anything because "it would ruin the surprise." This is my pregnancy. This is my daughter. We already don't get along, and this is making it a lot worse.
I got lucky, so me being a paranoid mother I called the pediatrician and told them she was around a baby and toddler that had RSV and asked if I should bring her in. He said to bring her in to be tested even though she appeared to be fine, he is the type to be cautious.
Luckily little one didn't contract it even with family passing babies around and toddler slobbering on everything in sight.
We got lucky and God was looking out!
