how do you SAHM stay sane?

how do you SAHM stay sane?

I have been a SAHM now since I was about 6 months pregnant and now that my little girl is a month I'm going bonkers. I miss working and getting out of the house. Please tell me your ways! TV, cleaning and working out only go so far. I crave human interaction that isn't baby all the time.

It's hard at first because your with a newborn. Feed, poop, slew and repeat lol. Soon you'll play. But cherish these moments. Learn to cook or bake something new. I know it gets boring being alone but your taking care and building a bond with LO.

It is easier once bub gets a bit older you can put them in swimming classes take them to library sing along groups or play group. Look up if there are any in your area for new mums to meet. It helps to meet up with other people in a similar situation. Trust me once there older and you have more your constantly busy and have to make a day to stay home and clean haha.

Given that it is December I can't just go on a walk with her being only a month old. It's far too cold. All of my friends and family work 9-5 jobs and by the time they are off it is time to cook dinner for DH. I do have a hobby, I am an artist but that gets old too. Only so much you can dive into a painting or drawing before it even starts to get old. ? I'm just waiting for the day DH gives me the go ahead to return to work part time. All of you ladies are so thoughtful, but I am not cut out for this SAHM business. It just is far too lonely for me.

I love being home with my son and having the house cleaned and dinner ready when my husband gets home. We are also gone a lot and I do volunteer work with my church. I feel like I still run out of time all the time!

I remember how lonely it was being at home all day every day with dd. Maybe bring your baby out for a walk everyday? The fresh air will be good for both of you.

I reach out to fam n friends more to visit when I got pregnant with ds, who is now a month old. Ive been a sahm since dd, stopped working oct 2015...and she was born feb 2016, so I understand you. I was not used to being home...but with #2 now I feel I'm too busy to be.

I did not have it easy when dd was young, otherwise I would've done some beading, which is my hobby and I sometimes sell on etsy....but dd doesn't allow me to bead, she's always trying to get into the stuff ?. I definitely wanna try etsy again.

Honestly, nothing beats human interaction....so call your fam n friends over. When I don't see them in a while I go crazy too!!!!

I went back to work because it depressed me. I was lucky to have made a deal with my MIL and pay her to watch my son while hubby and I work. For us it's worth it. I couldn't be a sahm. I can handle a little bit at home, but I'm not made to be a sahm. I'm made for interacting with people, working, getting out. So I fought to go back to work. Some women love it, but I didn't.

My days are all a blur. I have three currently pregnant with #4 and between school schedules, laundry, dishes, housework, homework, extra curricular activities i feel like half of the time i don’t even know what year it is. Soak in this time with your sweet baby, join a mom group, maybe find a hobby that you enjoy. I started sewing when i had my second and turned it into a full time business making children’s clothes. I loved it and ended up being super successful and brought in more money than my husband which was nice. But then I had my third and couldn’t keep up with the work! Enjoy this time ❤️ it goes by so fast!

I work the evenings part time so I'm not really a SAHM but I am there with him all day every day until I work. As a baby it was a lot more boring so I usually just took lots of walks, cleaned, relaxed, read, things like that. Once he turned one things got fun. We would go swimming, to the park, do crafts, go for walks and just try to stay busy. Now that he's almost 4 we pretty much play all day, swim, park, bowling all that kind of stuff as well as clean and just watch movies. We probably go shopping twice a week just to get out of the house.

Though I do admit I'd go nuts if it wasn't for my few shifts I have haha gives me time to get out. And my friends always make sure they get me out every once and a while.

I clean, do puzzles, movies, try and stretch sometimes. It does get a little hard sometimes because I share a car with my husband but we make a point to go out places when he doesn’t work.

It’s hard to stay at home. But especially when your baby is only a month old. The good thing is you baby will be easy to leave the house with soon and then you can take her on outings. Definitely join a local mom group. The sooner the better
