why do you bedshare or why do you not?

I am just curious to know everyone's opinions.

I Co slept with my first as it was the only way she would sleep. There are safe ways to co-sleep. Professionals should teach safe ways to do so instead of leaving it out in the hopes that parents wont co-sleep at all maybe the chances of something bad happening would be much lower.

I coslept with my first from the first night, she's now 2. Just had my 2nd on the 5th and were cosleeping as well. I hope the baby all night and I also don't roll around in my sleep so I trust myself

To many woman killed their babies while sleeping with them ? im having my fourth and i never slept with any of my babies they slept beside me in their baby bassinet until they were old enough to be in their cribs

I always swore I wouldn’t. But once my second was born, with my 2 year old getting up 3-5 times a night, it was the only I was able to sleep at all. We’ve downsized our bed since, so I’m getting a cosleeper that attaches to the bed for this baby. My older kids are 3 and 18 months and neither of them sleep through the night still, so I’ll do whatever it takes to get sleep.

I don’t because it’s too risky. If something were to happen you would always blame yourself and have to live with it for the rest of your life. Why not try everything in your power to prevent something bad from happening? I have always had my baby in a pack n play right next to the bed and that works for us. I’m constantly checking on her and she’s still right by my side if she needs me.

I plan on doing a bedside bassinet and then transitioning to crib as baby gets old enough. The horror stories of babies being accidentally suffocated scare me way to much to even chance it. A lot of people say they are light sleepers but I have heard stories of those that were very confident light sleepers and still had a baby get smothered. I know mom and baby may feel extra comforted by the sharing but I just won't risk it.

We bed share with our 9 week old daughter but believe me, we never intended to!

When we came home with our baby she spent the first night in her bassinet but I was a wreck. I sat up all night watching her breathe because I was so paranoid. After that and ever since she has been in our bed with us. We have a huge California king bed and both my husband and I are very light sleepers but I still worry! I am trying to transition her into her bassinet because I think she would sleep better in her own space, plus I'm not ignorant of the dangers of bed sharing... It does freak me out even though I LOVE having her in our bed.

I didnt and don't plan on it with my next. I don't for personal reasons, my bed is mine and Ohs place. I also don't because I wouldn't trust myself not to roll over etc and I definitely wouldn't trust my oh not to roll over and I wouldn't want him to sleep else where since he is the bread winner for our family he should Atleast get a decent sleep. The best decision for us was dd in her own room by 4 months so she was getting a quiet environment to rest and no one snoring, coming to bedate or watching TV disturbing her.

I won't, for a few reasons. I sleep with my 8lb Maltese, and I am always aware of where shes at during the night, so I don't worry about smothering baby. My Maltese does like to curl up by my face, and she sometimes blocks it so i have to turn my head, and I know a baby can't. I can put her on the floor, but its something I refuse since she helps me sleep and with my anxiety. Baby will be next to bed in a bassinet. I just don't want to have to break a habit later on, or have him in my bed, which to me is my adult haven. Its the adult bed. Of course the occasional night from nightmares spent in my bed is fine, but I don't want to struggle with getting him in his own bed when he's 2+. All my family that bedshared had that issue.

I don’t because my son sleeps so much better in his own bed.

We will have a cot attached to the side of our bed. We have too many blankets and hubby is a deep sleeper. He rips the blankets everywhere all night and could easily go over bubs head. My best friends cousins baby died cosleeping so it put me off. Saddest funeral ever.

I don't because I sleep HORRIBLY when he is in bed with me. I am hyper aware of him being next to me and can't ever sleep deeply because I'm afraid of moving wrong and hurting him. So he has been in his crib in his nursery since two weeks. I can see him breathing on the monitor, so that gives me peace of mind when I wake up worried about him.

Bed sharing is the #1 thing recommended against in the U.S. due to its high risk of SIDS. Unless, of course, baby is in a co-sleeper on the bed. So no, I would never bed share.

I bed shared because I was doing skin to skin to keep my milk. Then at 3 weeks he was circumcised and I had him sleep on my chest for comfort. Then it became where he didn't want to sleep on his own so he slept against me up until 4 months he decided he wanted his own space. So we put him in his pack n play and he sleeps 4-6 hour increments

But the entire time I barely slept. I slept so lightly that every twitch he would make would make me up. I'm still like that now when he sleeps in his own bed

We bed share! My son's 3 1/2 and we have since almost day 1. I couldn't sleep with him not in our bed. I was constantly awake watching him breathe so I finally brought him in bed with us and I could finally sleep again knowing I was feeling him breathe all night. Then it became a comfort thing. We want him out now but he's too attached, it's a fight to get him to sleep alone. He'll nap alone but he won't go to bed alone. The second he wakes up and realizes I'm not there he will come get me and then sleep hugging me all night so I can't leave again haha I wish I would have tried to boot him out sooner. I love having him in bed with me don't get me wrong it's a comfort thing for me too as I can barely sleep when he's away but he just hogs so much of the bed ? we will not be bed sharing with this baby. I've decided to get the Owlette monitor. But I have been tossing up a co sleeper crib to attach to the bed ? I'm a sucker for my babies! Lol

@echogolf that is frightening!!! Oh my gosh. I just see a ton of advocates on here for bedsharing and hear it's the best but that is what freaks me out the most is accidently smothering my child!?

A girl I worked with smothered her infant while bedsharing. I will absolutely not be bedsharing, it is way too risky!

I find it pretty hilarious how people who have shown their true colors on social media snake away, delete the posts that outed them and come back on social media like nothing happened. Why do that, you outed yourself, so stay out. We still see you boo boo...
