I had an appointment with my son's pediatrician today cuz he hasn't been nursing well the past 2 weeks. He will be 11 weeks on Thursday! He was 10lbs 9 ounces at his 2 month check up and today they weighed him and he was 9lbs!!! I strictly have to do bottles until I see the lactation consalten! I'm really sad cuz i thought it was going so well. I feel like I failed him. I'm still going to pump so my supply dosent dry up and he will still get breast milk!

Don't feel bad. It's not your fault. It's good that they caught it and he will catch back up don't worry. They will get to the bottom of it. Fingers crossed for you and all the best

Something very similar happened to me. My son was born at 8 lb 1 oz and was nursing really well (I thought). He went down very quickly to 6 lb 5 oz. It turns out he was only getting less than a half ounce of milk per feeding and therefore getting only 1 full serving of food per day ? He mostly eats formula, but I still pump. I have IGT (not enough mammary tissue), and I'm trying one last intervention before throwing in the towel on breastfeeding (goat's rue herbal supplement). I get 1 total ounce of milk from pumping for an entire day! Very frustrating and I felt like a failure too for basically unknowingly starving him, but as long as he's healthy (which he is with formula), I'm happy now. Feel free to PM me
