So because my little guy is only 13lbs even at 20 weeks and has only gained 4oz in 2 weeks, his pediatrician wants us to somehow get more calories into him. He sleeps all night (about 12 hours) and he apparently isn't getting enough while he's awake even though he eats all the time. We give him baby food anywhere from 1-2 times a day.

@hr she told me to keep with the baby food since he loves it but also add more milk/formula too.
@jess I will have to try that.
We go back in two weeks again for another weight check. I don't pump enough so that's why we supplement. Whether I'm with him or not I make like an ounce for every hour time away basically and less than that when I'm with him and pump after each feeding

My guy isn't gaining weight either, his nutritionist said I needed to add scoop of formula to the bottle, so instead of two scoops of formula for 4oz water I do three scoops and 4oz water. By adding the scoop it adds more calories per bottle, so he technically isn't drinking more milk, just his bottle is loaded with more calories. He seems to be filling out some, we go tomorrow for weight check.

Maybe take away the baby food and give more formula or breastmilk instead. Baby food is very low calorie and fat. Also maybe try feeding more after a 5-10 minute break and see if you can top him off. Another idea is to add a night/dream feed right before you go to sleep. My LO eats 5-6 oz (mostly 6) 5 times a day right now.
