My first son started solids at 2 months (doctor guided) my second didn't start until 10 months because of stomach problems (not food related) my third and fourth started around 4 months, with wyatt he won't start until his dietitian says he can because of how premature he was. I've had people telling me I should start him now because he's 6 months old (technically) and people tell me I'm starving him and restricting him. But every baby is completely different, I have five and each one I had to learn a whole new way to care for them because none of them liked the same things or reached milestones according to 'guidelines' (some where advanced and some were really delayed) ... Omg I'm so tired of this argument over food/cereal. My mom gave me and my sister cereal at 1 month old and we are perfectly fine. My cousin put rice in her sons bottle by 2 months and he's perfectly fine. Every baby is different and does develop at a slightly different pace. Go by your instinct, that's why we have them. From food to vaccines and everything else in life, you raise your child the way you want to. There is no need to attack other people.

I understand we all have our own ways with our LO. Yes, few of us may or may not agree. But, is it really necessary to say unnecessary bad words?? We are adults and not just that, we have young mothers in this app. I want to apologize to the the person who started this thread. This is my opinion and i am not here to bash anyone.

It's not like I'm giving it to him 3 times a day geez. It was just once for lunch and then we waited 24 hours to see how his stomach would take it. I've raised 3 other kids who aren't legally mine so I know how to do things even if he is my first

i fed baby girl some mixed begis thw other day she lovvvesss it. and i always give her a lil taste of my apple sauce lol. shes really good with eating off of the spoon. idc what anyone says. it hasnt hurt her stomach yet and i feel shes okay for it.

I may not agree with feeding with babies being fed before 6 months, but there's no reason to call people names.

And I like how you say "they are not interested in your food" like you personally know everyone else's kids. I'm not trying to be rude, even though I know it's coming off that way. But we have a right to choose what we think is best for our children just like you.

And we believe it's in the best interest of OUR child to feed them what they want. You don't see us coming on every single one of your posts talking about "please research giving solids early because that's what we do with our kids so you must do it with yours." Different parents, different kids.

They aren't interested in your food. They are just curious as to what you're doing. We are delaying solids and not giving any cereals. I've been doing a lot of research on open gut and I feel it's best for my child to wait on solids. Mommy's milk is the best for her little tummy until she's much older!

If their bellies weren't "ready before 6 months" then they wouldn't be meeting every milestone to start baby food and our pediatricians wouldn't have given the okay to start! And there is a reason it's recommended to be 4-6 months, because different babies develope differently. And it's a recommendation. Not a law. Let mommies make their own decisions about what to do with THEIR OWN babes.

My mom fed my brother and sister really early like 3 months (this was in the 70s) and they are amazing eaters today..no stomach issues. When I was born they told my mom to wait until 6 months like they do now and I have horrible stomach issues. Everything bothers my stomach. Of course it might have nothing to do with my mom waiting but it always nags in the back of my head. Killian is only 3 months now and shows no interest in food yet. I'm sure I'll wait and do the baby lead weaning but I still worry that maybe waiting isn't a good idea

I freaking love how supportive we all are! I visited another group and all hell broke loose when someone fed their baby peas before six months.

Thanks ladies! His daddy got to feed him more carrots today for lunch and daddy stopped for a few so baby cried cause he wanted more lol daddy didn't give him much more but it's good to know he likes them :)

Aw. I know my baby looks at me when I eat. I tired give my LO some but he just sucked on the spoon So he knows about the spoon?

He will be 4 months on the 30th. I know it's a little early but he kept looking at my food and opening his mouth like he wanted some(I was eating a hot pizza).
