I’m in the UK too and plan on getting a private early scan if I am pregnant again especially after the last one ended in mc I don’t think I could hold out 12 weeks, good luck to you xxx

Where abouts in UK are you ? You could always get a private re assurance scan . I am having a private gender scan on Xmas eve I will be 16wks 5days , they also do early reassurance scans so you can see your baby X

No blood tests (uk). They just accept your word. Didn’t contact Doctors, just rang and asked for a booking in appointment with midwife. I’ve never even had a urine test until my midwife appointment at 7 weeks ish. Think the first scan was around 12wks.

My doctor did a urine (I originally through it would be a blood test) and it came back negative because I didn't have a long enough hold. So I went back a few days later and redid it and it was positive. So they scheduled my first appointment which was at 8 weeks 1 day. They did a vaginal ultrasound to measure and all that good stuff. Every place is different though.

I had my first ultrasound at 7.5 weeks every time but no blood draw for any of them (3 kids)

First appointment was at 5 weeks then ultrasound at 7 weeks, because I had irregular periods and had no idea when I ovulated. (PCOS & endo)

Congrats! My first pregnancy I didn't have an ultrasound until 12 weeks. I had a MMC. With my son I got an ultrasound at 7 weeks and again at 9 weeks before my 12 week ultrasound. But that was because I had miscarried before. So I think the usual is 12 weeks.

Thank you ladies! I guess I’m just annoyed because it’s my first pregnancy and I’m paranoid something is going to happen. My best friend is also pregnant with her first right now at 91/2 weeks and she has had two ultrasounds already and we are seeing the same doctor. I’m thinking maybe the nurse I talked to was the issue. I really want to tell our parents on my moms birthday which is in December but according to the nurse I won’t even have an ultrasound by then.

Congratulations!! When I was pregnant with my daughter I had an ultrasound at my first appointment which was at 7 weeks.

In the uk first ultrasound is 12 weeks and there are no beta blood tests!

My first doctor only had me do one blood test and an ultrasound around 18-20 weeks which I wasn’t happy about because I had been on fertility aids for 2 years (He was the one taking care of me for those 2 years... ?) I found a wonderful obstetrician who sent me for 3 blood tests and an ultrasound at 7 weeks and another at 12 weeks. He’s very compassionate and saw that I’m a very nervous first time mom because of my history. He sends me in anytime I feel nervous or scared for my pregnancy. ?

I have irregular periods so I got an ultrasound done at 6 weeks, so you won't get yours until 18 weeks?

I'm in CA and with my first, after I got a + test at home, I called and made an appointment for when I would be 8 weeks. At that first appointment they did a vaginal us. I'm assuming that will be the same the 2nd time around once I see 2 lines.

I’m Canadian we generally don’t get a first ultrasound in our province till 18 weeks UNLESS you don’t know your dates then they will do it right away.

It definitely depends on clinic. Standard procedure for my clinic is no urine or blood test for pregnancy - they trust that you're pregnant. Educational intake is at 8 weeks. First OB appt and ultrasound are at 12 weeks.

My situation is a bit different due to irregular cycles, thyroid issues, and history of miscarriages. They tend to get me in ASAP for dating purposes and blood tests.

When I was pregnant with my son, I went in and they actually did a urine test, not a blood draw. But they did an ultrasound on the second visit.

They only do a dating ultrasound here if you have irregular cycles or dont know LMP. I actually told my doctor i didnt know ( when i did ) just so i could have one other then that only ultrasound you get here is anatomy scan at 20 weeks congrats on your bfp !!
