Smash cake photos
Is anyone doing smash cake photos or one year photos for their little one? I’m thinking about doing professional smash cake pics but I’m worried I may need to get them done too early. My daughter turns one June 8th but I think I’d have to get pics done at the end of April in order to get them back in time and use for invites. I’m torn and not sure what to do.
So idk if I’m an asshole for thinking this but a girl I used to go to school with is having her 3rd kid and she’s planning a baby shower and she had one with her other two. I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy. Idk I just feel like 3 baby showers is a lot! Especially when she gets things handed to her. Idk maybe I’m an ass for thinking that
So 2 weeks ago I took my son to get his cake smash photos. I got them back on Sunday and to say the least I was extremely dissatisfied how they came out. I feel like they look sloppy and the only editing he did to them was lighten them up. I paid $180 and that day he was not only an hour late to the photo shoot but he only wanted to take pics of him from afar while he lay on the ground he didn’t get no close ups of Liam. I told him how i felt and the only think he offered me was to try to re edit them. I told him I felt the quality of the pictures wasn’t even there to try to re edit them and he never replied back. Now I have no good pics of my sons cake smash and I lost money.
I thought I'd share. I do believe in spirits. So this pic was taking at the beach a few years back. Now there is a figure behind my step daughter. I think we caught something and think it's a cool photo. Can u see it?
So I don’t think I will keep this pregnancy and I don’t know what I’m supposed to do
I saw someone post this same exact pic yesterday saying they just got them , but this picture contradict everything that was said . I don't think yesterday was the 25th 😒 I do not like liars, had to block ✌🏾

Definitely earlier than later. Usually a photographers turn around time is 1-3 weeks, so you would need to do it in april

We are turning one May 25. Have party May 26th.
We already invited all the people - so won’t be use the pics for invitations.
We are doing our pictures end of April or beginning of May - my photographer only enhances the background and not the child itself. She will “fix” the outfit but not the face or body of a kid - no airbrushing on babies.
Her turnaround is 1-2 weeks if she is swamped.
We will use the pics for her party. Print them in a large format and hang them around so everything can see / enjoy.
I also wanted to wait Bc I want her to stand more confidently on her own.

Nolan will be 1 on June 1st and we plan on doing his around the end of May. We won't be using the photos for invites so it's not a time sensitive thing for me. It's just more about the experience.

I’m doing them too, but I’m not using them for the invites. So I’ll just do it close to his birthday.

I will take my own smash cake pics at his party. I will take him to this portrait studio for pics with a block with a 1 on it (then will take one at 2,3, etc).

I think I’m just going to do my own photos because I hate to wait and I think photos are easy to make look professional. We did professional newborn pics but our Christmas pictures looks just as good

My son turns 1 one june 16th and doing professional cake smash& first birthday photos on june 2nd as for party i am having it on the day of nothing to big.as hes only one just inviting a few kids over to play have cake and food and do lucky plates and cups
