Flu shot
Is anyone getting a flu shot? Every time I get one, I get the flu really bad. The years I don't get the shot, I am fine. My on strongly recommends I get one before the baby gets here. I didn't get one when my son was born. I'm torn. Don't know what I should do!!!
A.doubt is a discard (a no)
IMO
You dont get the flu from the shot correct BUT it makes you sick and have side effects because the body marks it as a invader and tries to fight it off therefore some ppl get very sick from the vaccine fighting in the body
I dont get the flu shot for many reasons two of biggest its not studied long term its altered every year and bc 8yrs ago i did get it and i was very ill with flu it only covers certain strains
I am educated on it and the risks benefits as i am a nurse but i dont get it so i wont be giving it to my girls either, also if your sick stay home and rest eat well abd wash ur hands.and dont rub your face ppl always forget the simple things - keep sick ppl away from your kids and dont go to public places your more likely to catch the flu with your kids
I feel nowadays ppl get flu vaccine to save themselves from others bc so many ppl are sick in grocery stores mall etc its not like it use to be stay home sleep and get well
Do what you feel is best for you and your family only you will know what is :)
I'm not saying you get the flu from the shot! I'm saying every year I have gotten the shot I ha e gotten the flu. And it has been a worse case of the flu than when I have not gotten the vaccine. There are literally thousands of different strains of the flu, the vaccine does not even cover half of those thousand+ strains. I will not be getting the flu shot.
I'm feeling so blessed to have gotten mine but feel awful for the rest of my family who all got the flu this month since I didn't get them in soon enough.. I have been sitting here 9 months pregnant with no one to baby me since everyone is sick but me. I have been up nights from taking care of them and dont get me started on the snoring... I have two kids and my fiancé. All had coughs for over a month, fevers, extremely sore throats head aches runny and bloody noses. my daughter didn't eat for at least 3 days straight because her throat hurt so bad than got croup on top of the flu. My fiancé lost 7lbs in two weeks and still gets a bloody nose every morning. They are just starting to get a little better now but they will be getting the shot still because there's no way Im putting a newborn through that. Im also hoping my boy stays in till my date so my family has more time to get better and less chance of spreading it to him. I've never gotten sick from the shot and have gotten it almost every year its a dead virus.
I got mine a few weeks ago and have been perfectly fine. Getting the flu while pregnant or with a newborn around would be really bad, so I figured why not eliminate some of the risk. I've told my husband he should get one too. As pp have said, you cannot get the flu from the shot. It is not a live virus. There is a mist that does contain a live virus, but you aren't allowed to get that while pregnant anyway.
You can't get the flu from the vaccine because the virus is all killed. Sometimes you are about to get sick and get the shot, and then you proceed to get sick and it seems like the shot made you sick. I got it and no one that hasn't had it will be around my baby because the flu can kill infants. Just my opinion. My husband is a physician and completely agrees with this and also wants everyone to have the whooping cough shot. A few years ago there was an outbreak that killed several children because no one was vaccinating.
I got it, but I haven't been without one for the last 5 winters or so, I do it just in case.
