I’m having it tomorrow. This is forecast to be the worst flu there’s been for a while. My son and husband will be having it too, wish there was a way I could protect my 7 month old too but I don’t think he qualifies.
I know this post is a week old but I just got the flu shot yesterday and man do I feel like crap!! Lol my arm hurts so bad and I have body aches and sinus type pressure! Hoping it goes away quick!
I just got mine on Monday during my first appointment. My son and my SO will be getting theirs as well.
Even if it doesn't protect against all strains, I rather decrease my chances of getting sick. With the flu you get fevers and that's not good for the baby.

@mom i saw the story on it last night! Really makes me nervous regaurdless.
I'm not sure at the moment as I just read it can cause miscarriages. They say usually that only happens if you've had 2 in a row (last year - this year) but that kinda freaks me out after 3 recurrent mc's. So I will def talking to my Dr more about it.
@sashie
I was wondering because she stated what the insert said but contradicted herself by saying nurses throw it away and it's never read..... that makes no sense ? I have seen what you're says everywhere but never once what she said.
I got it when I was pregnant with my daughter everything was fine I will be getting it with this one as well
In regard to the poster above, who mentioned that manufactures say pregnant women shouldnt get it: Actually the manufacturer explicitly say that pregnant women should get vaccinated preferably in the second or third trimester (unless there are other complications due to health). Here's a direct quote from the Influvac vaccine:
Flu vaccines can be used in all stages of pregnancy. Larger datasets on safety are available for the second and third trimester, compared with the first trimester; however, data from worldwide use of flu vaccines do not indicate that the vaccine would have harmful effects on the pregnancy or the baby.
Personally, I'll be getting it in a few weeks.
If it's offered to me I'll get it, as well as the whooping cough vaccine.
To the ladies that have gotten it and 'think' they have gotten the flu after having it, that's not true! It's a live vaccine so you will have some symptoms of the flu but it's not actually the flu!
Not everyone is pro vaccine and that's up to them but I'll never understand it. My kids get the flu drops every year as they both are asthmatic.. if you vaccinate your kids when they are born why wouldn't you vaccinate when they are in your tum?
I'm super not going to do it.
? NEVER! Especially while pregnant! ? the manufacturer insert says right on it, it has not been proven safe and is not recommended for pregnant women. Nurses just throw this away, it doesn't get read. Doctors just follow what they have been taught, give vaccines, vaccines = money. And Dtap/tdap increases the risk of miscarriage and still birth, this is stated on the manufacturing insert as well. ?
I do and already did because the immune system is basically shot while preggers. Might not protect against every, but what shot does?? Lol.

I appreciate all the different perspectives & opinions! Thnx guys
I will be getting one in November. Not only am I required by my job (I work with critically ill children) but also because it's recommended by my doctor. Not just for your safety but for the babies as well. We may be able to fight off the flu but our babies aren't so strong. I was nervous too but I've spoken to multiple doctors who all agree it's necessary!
Don't take while pregnant
I never had before doctor suggested I should so I did. So glad I did as my man came home from work a gew days ago with the worst flu he has bone aches chills headaches the lot and I haven't got it! So glad I just decided I would.
I never have and I never will. It doesn't protect against all strains so there's still a chance you'll get the flu. My daughter has never gotten it either and she's turning 3 next month. We're hoping for good health this winter!
I'll get the whooping cough one but I'm not feeling the flu shot.
I haven't had the flu shot in like 15 years and haven't got the flu. It's usually the people I know who get the shot that get it. I didn't get the shot when I had my son but it was out of season, as he was born in October.
It's more complicated with a baby on board but I just feel like it's unnecessary.
It's not the same as other vaccinations. I am pro vaccinations but the flu shot is different every year and much different.
No judgement to people either way on this one. It's such a split, I find!
Not getting one and never do. The one time I did get it I felt awful for two weeks.
I will. I had mine with the last two and I'll be having mine next week x I have one every year anyway. I'll also be having the whooping cough jab after 28 weeks too
It it mandatory I get once since I work at a hospital. I did it while I was pregnant with my first.

Not I. I rather fight it off naturally.
I'll get mine in a couple months. I only get them when I'm pregnant or have a tiny baby around during flu season.
I never do and will not. I never get sick so no need for me. The one time when my child was born premie (3 pounds 4 oz) they scared me to get one and I got the flu a few weeks later.
I don't usually get it, but I'm currently in college taking a cna class and it is a requirement, so I will be getting it my next appointment in 2 weeks.
I don't usually get it unless I am pregnant so this year we all will get it. I have asthma so I am recommended to get it.
Definitely getting it. I'm a teacher and kids are gross.
I have to or I would have to wear a mask from now until may (I'm a nurse ) so I will , just be sure to get the thermesol free version , I will ask at my first ob appt this week
Who all will be getting a flu shot and when? And if not what is your reasoning?
Just curious because my OB recommended my daughter, husband and I all get it. My hubby doesn't trust the flu shots and doesn't want me to get one being pregnant....anybody else kind of against it?? I think i will get mine at 14 weeks at my next apt. I've had the flu before and i never want to experience it again!
flu shot Who else has gotten the flu shot?
Have you or will you guys be giving your kids the flu shot?
Bout to get the flu shot, y’all pray for me 😭😭😩😩
My doctor also recommended me getting the flu shot while pregnant ? I'm not sure if I want to or if i should ? It's all scary to me !! What do you ladies think ? Did you get the flu shot while pregnant ? Are there any risks? Or should I wait ? I'm so scared of taking anything while pregnant , much less getting this shot.. He said it isn't mandatory , just recommended.
Anyone not getting the flu shot?

In Australia a women got the flu and is in a coma not knowing she's had her baby. Also an 8 year old girl died from the flu. Ive had the flu vaccine and will get the whooping cough vaccine bc science has demonstrated the benefits.
