Okay so there are so many different types of scents you can arrange together, look up on pintrest there is always a ton there! So for this one I just cut up the limes I had, picked some thyme and mint I have in my herb garden and added a little bit of vanilla extract. I then added water so everything is completely emersed and the reason I have it sitting in the mason jar is because I'm letting it sit over night so that the scent all comes together and is all ready to go in the morning. ..in the a.m I will just pour in my crockpot and put it on low with the lid off..it fills your house with the best aroma and smells so clean and fresh! You could just throw it all in right away and you can also pour into a pot and use your stove top instead but I just prefer crock pot because I will be home all day and it releases more of a subtle aroma and you don't have to worry about checking it. It literally took me about 3 mins prep time and honestly I get sick of lighting candles, this is all natural freshness right here!

I actually chose this specific recipe because I had all the items. I normally just make whatever I have at the time that I think goes together nicely, now for the holidays I have some awesome pairings but for year round it is basically whatever is in the pantry. For example if you have oranges, instead of throwing the peels away put them in a little baggie and keep in the fridge. If you have any lemons or limes you're going to throw away you know if you had it squeezed in your tea or water etc. you can use them as well..you can really use anything.
