Zoloft..?.. Any ladies on here that are taking or have previously taken Zoloft?

My ob prescribed me zoloft 25mg to take when i go back to work bc im freaking out about leaving her. We will see how well it works but im crying just thinking about it ugh!

I took prozac since I was 15. once I got pregnant they had me stop taking that. after awhile I couldn't stand the depression I was having and was put on zoloft. 50 mg and it helped a lot. I was just bumped up to 100 mg for pp depression. I never had any side effects and its helped. it only took about a week to start noticing a difference. hopefully it works for you!

Been taking Zoloft for almost 9 years now, took it my whole pregnancy with no complications. You really need to try to take it the same time everyday & not stop if you "feel better" until you've talked with your dr. I've never had any side effects but have had very bad withdraws if I've ran out & don't get to take it for a few days. It's been a life saver for me threw some really awful times. That's so awful you had to go through all of that! Especially not having many options! I think baby blues and ppd is serious if not taken care of and that was bad care on his or her part!! We should talk and see how were both feeling from time to time so we can see how it's working! Thank you! I am too! I had to switch to a new OB/GYN an thank god she saw that it was serious an not just the blues. I had actually already made my appt with another dr to be seen about it, a family dr but cancelled it bc this dr is on top of it going every two weeks to see how I'm doing an if we need to adjust the meds! I'm really mad at my old obgyn bc I told him I was serious an needed something to be done an he flat out ignored me I had to ask for the therapists number and he told me oh if you want it ask the receptionist.

I just took my first pill this morning! Guess I will see how it goes the rest of the day, so far so good. Not feeling any side affects I am really tired though!! I'm glad you finally got something!

I just got on it yesterday!! I took it An it gave me joint pains. I took a Advil an it made me a little nausea but didn't last long! I actually got some good sleep last night even with feedings the time I did sleep was so good.

Yah I guess it was baby blues, but all I know is I couldn't eat and all I wanted to do was sleep and I cried 24-7. I also didn't want my kids, not like wanting to kill them but I just wanted someone to take them.

I hope it works for you! I've taken lots of anti depressants throughout high school/college and I think Zoloft worked the best for me, but I stopped taking it because I just don't like taking medication and it made me feel like I had no feelings (like all other anti depressants)

The only thing I remember was when I stopped taking it I had really bad side effects, like weird shocks in my body, and I felt like I had the flu and would get really dizzy and feel so weird. And I tapered off I never went cold turkey. Just going through the "detox" was horrible enough, so even though I should probably be on it again I don't want to do it!

I'm hoping I don't get any type of side effects because I usually never am effected by any sort of medication so fingers crossed, I take it in just a few hours lol! 3 to be exact .. Eeeeeek.

I tend to react weirdly to all medications and this is one I've never had side effects from. Also one of the safest depression medications to take. But yeah, doesn't take just 3 days to work =/ It takes quite awhile. But the wait is worth it!!!

Ok yeah my OB started me on 50 mg .. I'm nervous yet excited to start taking this morning!

It only took me a few days maybe a week too start seeing a difference :)

Give it a few weeks and you should feel 100% better

Oh also, I didn't have any side effects

I've been taking it since I was 6 weeks pregnant. I had major perinatal anxiety and depression. Had to take two months off of work because I was so bad. The zoloft helped tremendously. I started at 50 mg didn't feel a huge difference until I increased to 150 mg. It did take a little time to kick in.

It's definitely worth looking Into and talking to your OB about!

Planning on asking my OB about this. I've been all over the place emotionally, had a complete break down yesterday.

My doctor told me it could take a few weeks up to a month to actually notice a difference and get the full effect..

Baby blues lasts just a few weeks or even less depending. And ppd is more serious and can last much longer. In serious cases up to a year! Can't even imagine!

I'm starting it not only for ppd but I've been battling depression for 13 years now. I lost my mother on my birthday. Never had major depression but enough for me to go day to day feeling down and so on.

Yah just to stop the PPD. It only takes 3 days to work. I was scared I'd still have the PPD but I feel great! I only had like 25 mg. Nothing major!

Indiana, you only were on it for 3 weeks?

I got on it right after birth 3 weeks ago and it worked great! I also stopped taking it Sunday with no problems.

Thank you! I remembered you were the one person that takes this. :-) when you first started how were the first few weeks for you? I know everyone reacts differently. Just would like to get some incite!
