Look at your grocery store to see if they carry "Morton's Light Salt" you still have all the potassium in salt that's good for you but half as much sodium. It also tastes just like regular salt :)

You're body's probably gone on strike for cutting back on its sodium ?. If you're not working & at home make sure you're getting enough exercise too. Circulation is good for combating swelling. Everything is such a fine balance when you're dealing with pregnancy. Hope the swelling goes down for you soon.

My mw actually told me fri that I need to up my salts. Healthy natural salts tho, not the overly processed sodium that is in processed foods. So I've been adding a sprinkle of sea salt to my foods :)

I am thinking it has something to do with my weight gain. I went from my pre pregnancy weight being 112 to now at 33 weeks weighing in at 160. It is mostly all belly, maybe a tiny smidge in my thighs BUT you would never ever know nor guess.

I haven't been having much salt the past week, just so happens the foods I've been eating didn't have much at all..actually when I cut down and stopped with the salt that's when this occurred?

Ouch!!! Poor thing!

Salt will definitely effect water retention. I couldn't get enough soup w/dd & it made me blow up like a balloon every time I ate it because of the sodium level. You can experiment & cut it out for a few days & see how things go then add it back to see what happens. I'm betting it's the sodium in your diet tho of that's what you're craving ?

It's not preeclampsia my blood pressure has never once spiked. I've had very good BP this whole time and didn't have any high levels of protein in my urine..besides weight gain I've had a great pregnancy, this is my first child so I'm thinking it's just what my doctor said, every woman swells different. Some get it bad, some get it a little , or so so or none at all.

UPDATE:: had my apt today, doctor is not worried one bit she said that everyone is different, my fingers tHankfully have not swelled yet. My blood pressure has been perfect this whole entire time and I drink about 10 bottles of water a day ? which she said was great! I love water I am like a fish, always have been!

One thing I have been over doing is my salt intake. Not sure if that has anything to so with it but it's a big time craving and hard for me to cut down on!

Thanks for all the comments and concerns! I called my doctor the next day anyway, I don't mess around..better safe than sorry! ?

Oh wow! I didn't realize you all commented I need to check these out

I agree with PP, I'd let your doc know, esp since that happened in the AM. Have you had rapid weight gain, or swelling in the hands or face as well? Even if not, it could be a sign of pre-e...not to be messed around with!!

Call your doc!!

Agree with these ladies. Some swelling is fine but if you're waking up like that, i'd get it checked out.

Нравится Ответить

Tell your doctor about it. Sudden swelling can be a preeclampsia thing.

Нравится Ответить

Some swelling is normal but you are pretty swollen! I would give your doc a call!

Нравится Ответить

Oh man, you should probably call your doc!

Looks painful=( try soaking them in Epsom salt! I heard that works!

Нравится Ответить

Yikes! That's some serious swelling!

Нравится Ответить

You poor thing! My fingers swelled up a lot the other day after eating a meal high in sodium. Try to avoid it and drink lots of water.

Makes sure you're getting plenty of water in & keep you feet elevated above heart level. With ds2 I had to sleep w/my feet propped up or the swelling would never go down. Also let your dr know what's going on.... Could be a sign of pre-e

My first pregnancy I was this way all the time! I swear by drinking lemon juice in my water all day that I have not be swollen once this pregnancy!!! At first I was cutting fresh lemons but that got old, so now I just buy the pre-made lemon juice. I go through like 6 bottles a week! Give it a try!

Aww that looks so uncomfortable:-(

Нравится Ответить

Soak them in some cold water or do some cold compresses on your legs and feet. Keep them elevated also. :)

? does not look fun.

Нравится Ответить

So sorry mama! Do keep an eye on that though! If it doesn't go down you might wanna go to l&d to get your bp checked out!

Нравится Ответить

Well at least you got a nice pedi;). Time to put the feet up and relax.

Нравится Ответить

Oooh! Keep an eye on that, has your BP been ok?

Нравится Ответить
