I ate lunch meat all the time when I was pregnant with both my girls and they turned out fine.

I asked my doctor about this and she said it's fine in moderation. She said that she would only be concerned if I was eating nothing but deli meat every day.

If u have to have lunch meat get it straight from the deli counter and have them cut it fresh for you. Dont eat the packaged stuff filled with chemicals and fillers!!

Well I've went this long without a hoagie!! So ill just continue to so good :)

Store bought mayonnaise is fine. It's homemade/ fresh that your not supposed to eat because of the raw eggs.

OMG I've been craving a ham sandwich too! I'm definitely gonna try that, heating it up then cooling it off, method... But we're not supposed to eat mayonnaise either right? Cuz it has raw eggs in it?

Well it's also called cold cuts..my growing up that's what my family would call it!

You could just heat up the lunch meat to 165 then cool it quickly by placing it in a ziplock bag and running it under cold water. Then you can place it in the fridge till your ready to make the sandwich.

I know two women who list babies at 39 weeks due to listeria. So knowing that, the craving doesn't even come through my mind.

Ugh I have been ok so far but I love sandwiches!! It's my most favorite thing to eat. My husband swears when I have a craving he will figure out a heated sandwich or something to to replace it, but I don't know if it will do the trick. I'm going to try to stay away, almost everything I love is on the no no list but I guess it's our first sacrifice to our little one lol

I have been craving for cold sandwiches since the beginning of my pregnancy....but I have been able to stay away from it. (not worth the risk)

what I did was cook the ham throughly and made me a yummy sandwich LOL....

But still is not the same :(

I occasionally have lunch meat but everyone recommends against it - pregnant women are 20 times more likely to contract listeria. I'm going to try and not do it again- not worth the risk. I agree with you- I hate heating up lunch meat
